Hey everyone,

I just thought I'd share my latest target with you from the range. It's the best of 4 targets today.

25 rds @ 25 ft, offhand (no bench rests allowed), Completely stock XD-40 Service (non-ported), Winchester White Box 165gr.

The center of the target is 1.5' X 2". I score it as an 11. The ring just outside is a 10. I have a total score of 237 (of a possible 275) for an average of 9.48 pts per rd.

I know I won't win any national tournements with this, but I'd like to see how I stack up against the average Joe. Anyone interested?

Don't have a B-27 target, but here's my last TX CHL qualification. The group is a little ragged; I hadn't shot in a year or so at the time.

50 rounds of WWB 9mm from a CZ 75BD. Timed fire, offhand, at a variety of ranges. Specifically:

9 feet, 20 shots:
1 shot in 2 seconds, 5 times
2 shots in 3 seconds, 5 times
5 shots in 10 seconds, once

21 feet, 20 shots:
5 shots in 10 seconds, once
1 shot in 3 seconds, 5 times
2 shots in 4 seconds, once
3 shots in 6 seconds, once
5 shots in 15 seconds, once

45 feet, 10 shots:
2 shots in 6 seconds, once
3 shots in 9 seconds, once
5 shots in 15 seconds, once

Oddly enough, most of the shots drifted over to the right were early ones, at 9 feet, before I settled in.

250 points out of a possible 250.

I'll bite...

I don't have the exact target. I'll use in Idpa target which has an 8" circle. I'll do 25 feet on one and a second target at 25 yards. Both offhand 10 shots apiece. I'll put a 1" circle in the center. Will post this weekend. It'll be fun to see what we can do.

Here are my two targets from Sunday.

Target on the left was engaged at 7 feet. 10 rounds in approx. 15 secs.

Target on the right was engaed at 25 feet. Two seperate clips, 20 rounds approx 20 secs. per clip.

I do like the XD it's a good pistol! Not as good as my Kimber II .45,
but that's another target.

After using the above targets today, I have to say that the BIRCHWOOD CASEY self-adhesive Shoot•N•C® targets are worth the little extra they cost. Much easier!http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/target_index.asp?categoryID=4&subcat=8

Here's my range contribution:

Background- I had my XD-40 tactical for about two months now. I was not happy with the groups that I was shooting. So I took a GLOCK 34 and the XD to the range, shot one magazine (string #1) with one gun and immediately shot the other (string #2) as a comparison (~2 seconds to aim per shot). I kept the strings in sequence as you can see. The good news is that I was able to improve my XD groups, (bad news is my GLOCK still shoots a little tighter). I have some 7 and 10- yard groups for comparison. I know that shooting 9mm vs .40 may be comparing apples to oranges but I can shoot tighter groups with .45s than my XD too.....

I just recently purchased an XD9 Service. I really like this gun.I have put almost 700 rounds through it with no problems. I am not a great shot but for me this is the best shooting gun I have ever had.

Both of these targets were shot at 21 feet. The target on the left was shot at the indoor range the day I got the gun. The one on the right is a couple of weeks after that, outside, on a windy day. WWB was used both times. I am very very pleased with how the XD9 shoots. At the time I purchased it I was also looking at a Glock 17. Both guns felt really good in my hand but the XD9 was $100 cheaper. I feel like I picked the better deal. After all the problems I had with a Warthog this gun is sweet! :D

Holy Cow! Nice shooting! How many round were shot at each target?
I believe it was 50 rounds at each. That is one great shooting gun. I sent the picture to my son in college who allowed as to how that was pretty good shooting but that I should come up to an elite pistol like a glock. I'm thinking........nah. I seriously doubt that I could shoot a comparable glock any better plus they cost more. I'm lucky to have the XD. I never thought I would fall in love with a 9mm but I have.
