I have a UTG bipod that I want to mount on my Ruger 10/22. Now I understand how to mount it to a rail (which went on my AR fine), but I don't understand what I need to do to mount it on the swivel stud. Do I need an extra part or is there something I need to take apart on the bipod? Can anyone help me out here?

I'm not sure about the UTG bipods. I know the Harris bipods use an adapter to fit on a pic rail. The adapter is a rail mount on the top, with a sling stud on the bottom. Unscrew the thumb stud to loosen the adapter, and you'll see what I mean. If it's similar to a Harris.

Thanks for the reply. I just found that there were a few small pieces that are needed to mount it to the swivel stud, and I must have lost them. I don't guess UTG will sell me those individual parts, but I emailed them anyway.

Harris bipods mount directly to the swivel stud.
