XDs recall/FedEx problems?

    So...last Thursday, I took the package with the prepaid label to the local FedEx agent. They wouldn't take a firearm. (Someone had been in the same day, and the FedEx rep spied the Springfield address on my box) They said "if that's a firearm, we can't accept it here". Not wanting the hassle, I scheduled a pickup.

    The FedEx driver shows up today, and immediately tells me that they can't take any packages going to Springfield Armory. He stated that Springfield's FedEx account has been changed to a "Cash Only" status. He said I would have to pay for the shipment out of pocket. I asked if he was talking about a charge for the pickup itself, or the shipping charges. He said the shipment itself.

    I asked how much it would be, and he said he would have to call and find out. I said never mind. I called Springfield, and the CS rep stated that they are having problems with FedEx. I spoke to FedEx, and they said it's probably a clerical error.

    Is anyone else having trouble shipping their XDs?

    Mine arrived at Springfield at 7:38 AM today, thanks to FedEx.

    If you keep getting hassled, take it to your local Scheels Sports (if you have one). Took mine there and was treated great. They are liable for any loss/ damage. Worry free solution.

    I sent mine off today without issue... just an FYI I did ask the guy if I could insure it and he said "no insurance is available on prepaid shipping labels...". So I guess I'll be watching the tracking number like a hawk.

    No problem either. They were very friendly about it. In fact i just got an E-Mail confirmation that has been delivered.

    I'm in WA State, no Scheels here. I figure the problem is just some crossed wires, and I'll schedule another pickup.

    I was mainly wondering if anyone else had problems, like being told Springfield is "Cash Only". FedEx states that "cash only" means the account is flagged for non-payment. I find that HARD to believe.

    I took my unloaded gun and the printed shipping form to the FedEx terminal on Thursday and handed it to the woman. She put it in a free box with free packing material, taped the box and shipping label on, and gave me a receipt with the tracking number. The tracking number said they received it this morning.

    If the official fedex site won't take it, use a shipper like Kinko's or any of the many other authorized FedEx shippers. I took it to a FedEx, USPS and UPS shipper.

    i went to fed ex about an hour ago with no issues. the woman was friendly and apparently had another guy in there earlier today that was shipping a firearm back due to a recall.

    Sent mine off yesterday and had no issues. I was already expecting a package them, so when the guy got to my house I just handed him the box and told hiim what it was and where it was going. He took it and went about his way.

    You should contact another FedEx about this... It seems fishy, like the driver was trying to hustle you or something.

    I had no problems here. At first I took it to a FedEx Kinkos Office store and they wouldn't take it. So I called up FedEx and got a pick up scheduled. they came to my work and picked up. No questions asked.
