I wish they engineered it to be physically smaller than the .45 version. Guess I will stick with my Nano.

The size is plenty small for me. I assume the manufacturing costs would have been way more if they had to make it smaller instead of tweaking some things to make it fit the 9

Did MAC just gloss over the fact that the XD-S 9 failed to lock back on the last round with the second mag?

I bought the XDs because it is a small 45 that works. What else is out there that compares. To carry, small and dependable is so important.
There is no end to small 9mm guns on the market. My CM9 is smaller and runs perfect. More important, I already have little 9mm covered.
My 1911 is a more comfortable target gun in 45. I got the XDs to carry 45 !
The first video is just an opinion from a guy that likes a soft shooter. That is all he was promoting.

Just gotta' find one now. My wife loves the feel of my .45 XDS, but the recoil is more than she wishes to tolerate. With a 7+1 capacity this thing is perfect.

Gotta say that the deciding factor for me was the grip safety. As a long term 1911 guy the grip safety was something the 938 did not have. Confidence and no manual step to make.
The XDs 9mm will have that going for it.

    According to the firearm blog

    • Standard capacity of 7+1, but has optional extended magazine making 10+1
    • Should be available by 2nd quarter 2013
    • MSRP will be around the XDs price

Slide not locking back could be because his thumb hit the release. That is a small gun so it's probably pretty easy to do.
