I just received an email from w ww.budsgunshop.com stating they are partnering with this company with a new firearms/sporting goods auction site, w ww.bidgunner.com (site isn't live yet). This is one of those auction sites where you have to purchase packages of "bids" to be able to bid on something and the bids only increase in penny increments. I believe it will be similar to how things are done on sites like w ww.quibids.com.

I personally don't think these site make much sense...What are your thoughts on sites like these? Has anyone had a good experience using auction sites such as these?

I think the whole "buying bids" BS is just that... BS.

I also got that email. Maybe its just me, but all of those penny bid websites (liek the Quibids.com that I always see on TV) seem like a crock....

They are a crock. The goal is to get you spend so much money on bids that you go ahead and buy the item. I would never participate in such auctions.

Yeah I don't think there is any way you can get a deal on sites like that.

I think any business model that is based on the customer having to pay in order to buy something from the business is asinine. I think my money will NOT be making a visit to their site.

I got the same email from Bud's. I wonder if they are affiliated with each other.

It's crazier than that: you have to pay for a CHANCE to buy something from them.

Deals can be found on these sites. If you have self-control and watch your own bottom line, you'll do fine. If not, you get what you get.

I think it sounds a little sneaky. I was reading on the w ww.bidgunner.com website and their cheapest "bid" pack is like $0.55/bid. Seems kinda crazy. It also says right on the website that they are partnered with budsgunshop.com

Guess the $2.75 Leatherman Skeletool and the $5.00 2-year subscription to Guns & Ammo I got from On Target Auctions don't exist then. Damnit, and they were so handy too.

Well, that's not quite the same scenario... You, admittedly, did not have to pay for the chance to bid since they were a promo...

My problem with these sites is that they capitalize on the rampant act of sniping.
