    Hey guys,

I am in need of about 100-ft. or so of 550 cord. I need the solid color, desert tan cord, and it must be mil-spec., 7-strand and not the cheaper civy alternatives. I may also consider the desert camo or ACU colored stuff as well if I can't find the other.

If you have some you'd like to part with or know where I might lay my hands on some without spending $12 for the cord and $8 for S&H (people online are NUTS)...I'd sure appreciate it!!

Thanks for looking and for any leads you might have,
    ORD out...

I was looking at these guys to order some from earlier, just havent ordered yet. Not sure of the shipping to you from NY, but at $7 + shipping it must be less than the $20 you were looking at.

Try E.L. Wood Braiding Co., Inc. Website I buy from them for braiding nylon whips. you can order it with or without the core. Only problem may be the quantity. If you could use it without the core, I could hook you up. All mine is wihtouth the core so it lays flat when braiding.

Tiburon65 and jegonzo3...I checked both of those places and for 100', I am looking at around $15 shipped...still better than $20, so I'll keep those in mind.

bldgmkr, I sent an e-mail about a small quantity order. I'll see what they say. I have a feeling that they may only do larger contract orders...100' is pretty insignificant compared to the volume they are normally used to, but it is worth a try.

    Thanks for your responses, guys.

I order all my paracord from Supply Captain. I've purchased about 2000' or so in 100' hanks in multiple colors, and all their stuff is quality mil-spec materials. Get some of the tan, some black and some OD green and you'll be set for anything.

Thanks for the 2nd on Supply Captain. Their price with S&H was just a few cents less than LA Police Gear whom I have dealt with before (all good). I'll likely give Supply Captain a try.

I have tons of OD and Black 550 cord sitting around (prob. over 1,000' between both colors), but need the desert tan for a specific project. I'll post a pic or two when I get done!!

Thanks again to all who responded...Supply Captain it is!!!
