Why do you like the Glock 21 better than the XD or XDM 45? I run across more people that like the 21 better. I think it's because most people haven't fired the XDM.
If you don't like it better I'd also like to hear why.
I think it because most HAVE fired the XDm..
I shoot my Glock 21 better than any other of the 8 Glocks I own.
People want a solid stock Glock trigger over a spongy sloppy stock XDm trigger.
People don't want to have to pay $100 for a PRP kit to make the XDm trigger acceptable.
People like having the option of buying a ton of aftermarket parts and holster for their Glocks.
People like to be able to buy replacement parts and/or barrels with several options.
Good luck finding a 10mm barrel for your XDm....
I've bought and sold many an XD pistol.
I've bought and kept many a Glock pistol..
I'd have to agree with lowlife. The Glock platform itself is much more appeasing bc of the amount of aftermarket parts available. The xd trigger is not the worst but man it leaves a lot to be desired.
I love my G21 Gen 4 that is a blocky brute. It used to be my HD gun but the P226 extreme fills that role now. Now my G21 is the camping pistol. I held an XDm recently, for for the first time in a long time, and although it felt really good the trigger is spongy. I had visions of PRP all over again...
Its just a nice .45 to have. The only thing I think I would sell this for a is a 97B or P220 but even then I think I would regret getting rid of it.
I have never shot the XDm 45. I bought a G21 Gen4, then put 200 rounds through it the same day. I didn't even take it home. I cleaned it at the range and traded it for a new HK 45. Two years later, I still have the HK 45.
To each his own I guess. Long before I ever owned a Glock, I owned an HK USP40, that just never fit me very well. Wanted a G20 only because it held 16 rounds of 10mm, but just didn't have much love for Glocks in general.
Now I think I own 16 Glocks and only recently purchased a couple more HK's. VP9 and P7 PSP.

I've never shot the 20, or any 10mm for that matter, but I would like to give it a go. I like my VP9, but I'm hoping for a VP45. At some point I'll probably buy another 21 & 30,but the sf version because the Gen4s I had felt like a 2x4 in my hand. Might try the XDm 45, purely out of curiosity, as the only SAs I've short are my TRP and XDs. Is the XDm trigger as bad as everyone says?
It's mushy. I've owned XDsc40, XDm9, XDm40, XD45, XDs45. Still have the XD45, my favorite of them all. And I still own the XDm9, but sold the rest and never looked back.
So if I understand what you're saying, I should stick with my G19&26 Gen4s, and skip the XDm 45 all together.
When I get the chance, I'll pick up a 21sf. I'm not all that optimistic on the prospect of the VP45 anytime soon. BTW, I agree with everyone, the HK sa/da triggers are garbage. After Gray guns worked on my P30 it was tolerable. Still had a da pull around 11lbs.
I love my XDM 45 and recently acquired a gen 4 21.
I like the looks of the XDM and the grip much better than the 21. The grip safety and bore axis do not bother me at all. That complaint is usually reserved for people who have never fired it. I am also one who does not think the trigger is that bad.
As for the 21, I have not fired it yet. I will definitely comment after I do.
I owned a "police trade-in" Glock 21. After a year I sold it. First, It felt like a brick in my hand, Second, I cast my own bullets and did not want to invest in a lone wolf barrel. I currently own a G19 Gen 3 and it's a great pistol. Glocks are quality pistols.... and I like the fact you have lots of aftermarket holsters and options.
However, I LOVE my Springfield GI model 1911. It's a track-driver and fits my hand like a glove. My DX-9 Service feels the same.... I guess it's the grip angle???
The SF G21 is has the same dimensions as the Gen 4 G21 with no backstrap.
There are some differences between each, such as the grip texturing, the mag release size, and the dual recoil spring assembly.
I don't like the Gen 4 Texture or the finger grooves..
I like the finger gro
That is why 3 of my Glocks are Gen 2.....
I shot my XD 45 tactical and Glock 21sf together more than once, granted it's been a while but I disliked them both and no longer have either. They were both accurate but I never warmed up to the XD trigger or the huge Glock grip so I moved on to the HK 45 and P220, they fit me better but the Glock and XD both worked and did there job.
I ran my service with a 3rd gen 21 a coworker got a few years back. I honestly shot the 21 a bit tighter and didn't wanna admit. I was firmly a Glock anti then. If one was to dig up old posts, there's plenty of gripes about them.
I do own both. XDm 45 does have a prp trigger and it's a very nice gun. G21SF only needed a $.25 trigger job and it was superior. My G30S is just as nice, both SF frames, However gen2 Glocks are my absolute favorite.
