Any help here will much be appreciated.
Any one you want.
What I mean by that is you can get excellent AK's for $400 just depends on what you want to do because it's personal preference. I personally would look into a Yugo underfolder but that because I allready have a basic romanian (with zero problems) under half what your willing to spend. You might even look into a basic yugo and get a dress up kit if you like all the tactical stuff that everyone does to the AR's.
Good budget for a nice AK.
I like the Arsenals. just my opinion.
Not unless its an M95A....
+1 on anyone you want. some maybe prettier than others, but they are all pretty much the same.
I really like the Arsenal Milled AK's but would not recommend them because they are too dam expensive.
WASR-10's go for only $350, they are ugly, have a crooked front site, and have a slappy trigger. On the flip side though, they do go bang everytime and are very reliable. They also come with 2 mags, a mag pouch, and oil can, and a bayonet. If you are on a budget I highly recommend these.
Vector Arms go for about $550. I myself would much rather spend the extra $200 and get one of these over the WASR. They look very nicely made and seem to be a lot more solid.
I can't comment on the others.
I'd say go with an used Arsenal, a Vector, or an AK from Ohio Rapidfire.
atlantic firearms has many very nice AKs in that price range. my personal favorites are the Tantal and the Polish underfolders they have.
PS: Einheit, i wish i had taken your advice. I love my AR, but I find myself really rather having a quality AK. . .I would have spent less money too.
I can say this, My cousin has a vector RPK and a classic they are so nice and biult like tanks. plus it's hard to find any company that has a five year warranty like them. also there price is really good for what you get.
I'd say buy a Yugo, and then buy 2-3k Rounds for it.
