XDm .45 does not have a higher capacity.. it is 13 rounds and uses the same magazine as the regular XD .45
match grade barrel, shorter trigger resest, solid (one piece guide rod) and adjustable back straps.

XD sub compact is not available in .45

XD compact is a 4" barrel 10 rounds (13 with grip extension), two piece guide rod. 5 inches high = shorter grip

XD service is a 4" barrel, 13 rounds and (if i'm right) the two
    piece guide rod

XD tactical is a 5" barrel, 13 rounds and a one piece guide rod

I believe he was referring to the XDM 4.5 inch barrel, not the .45 ACP XDM. In my case the XDM does carry a higher capacity, we have been blessed with 16+1 for the .40 cal. XDM is a better pistol if you're not trying to carry concealed, otherwise buy a subcompact XD.

I too am new to the SA XD line, and am trying to compare the basic dimensions of the 9mm's (OAL, Height, and Width).

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but could somebody tell me what these dimensions would be for the compact and subcompact
    XD's?

I'm having trouble getting this info from the SA website, and would greatly appreciate any help.

I'm thinking of buying a XD9sc tomorrow, and since I'm looking to conceal/carry the pistol, I'd like to know how it compares to the KT P-11 I recently sold.

My first post here, and I'd just like to say thanks to you all.

The compact only comes in .45ACP so its either 4 inch Service in 9mm or the Sub Compact.

Thanks for the links warmachine. I've been having trouble finding a pistol with a grip that fits my hand. I can't get my fingers around many double stack pistols, and I'm on a budget.

I tried out an XD, so I'm looking forward to putting the XD9sc in my hands today.

    Thanks again.

Both the compact 45 and the tactical fit my small hands well.
