2 cases of ammo. One to shoot in your carbine class and one to store for emergencies.

Seriously, if I had a WASR dropped in my lap today I'd pop a set of Kvar furniture on it and be done.

B.L.O. on the wood stocks, it makes them nice and dark. I cannot see myself sinking to much more money in my WASR besides ammo and magazines. Unless you are into buffers.

TAPCO G2 trigger. I hear that the first and best thing that can be done to the WASR-10.

I know a mod Im looking for on my Lancaster is a red dot scope.
What I really want is a holographic sight but those are way to expensive.

    Why?

WASRs have been shipping with Tapco G2 FCGs for over 2 years now.

    Mine has one.

I'm looking at the best prices for for grips right now, I think that I want a picatinny rail for a foreward grip. I'm not interested in optics or lighting. The collapsible (no folding ones for me) stock I'd sort of HAVE to get so it all matched :)
And then a black nylon sling, and a pistol grip with the finger grooves.

+1 on the 2 cases of ammo.

If the stock is too short you, you may want to put an adjustable one on.

It's not necessary, but I put an AK 74 style muzzle brake on mine to tame a little bit of the muzzle clime (and I personally think it looks nicer)

Let me give you this advice......DON'T put a $600 optic on an $375 AK. Especially a WASR. It isn't a sniper rifle. I personally can't understand why people do it, but hey, it's your $$$.

A Krebs custom Selector lever wouldn't hurt

What is a cheap red dot for the AK?
I mean cheap total too. Including the mount and everything.

seems too expensive what I see

Mine was cheap. Red dot was going for 30$. Side rail went for 40. And it hits what you put the dot on.

I don't personally recommend a forward grip. Makes it more difficult to change magazines or won't let you change 40rd mags.

My wasr does not have a tapco g2 trigger and it will slap you finger when you fire.

personally i dont see the point of adding a red dot to a wasr, but to each his own. i (havent yet, but will soon)am replacing my trigger group and hammer , like others have said , to get rid of trigger slap. i also put a tapco saw style grip on , to me its more comfortable. i would like to replace the plastic hand guards with wood at some point but i cant seem to find any wood handgurads right now.

Like I said before, I'm against a red dot, or any optics for an AK, but not because I hate optics. My biggest quarrel with it is the cheek weld position on an AK stock is quite low, making the eye relief position, very high, and very far away. You would need a cheek riser to fix it. The only one I've seen that really corrects this problem is the La Rue sight that attaches in the place of the rear sights. ......BUT like I said before, it's a pretty expensive optic. About $250-$350. :???: Kinda alot.

Yeah, Im thinking of saying f*ck it to the sight.
Maybe just an adjusting tool for the front sight.

What do people think about the Lancasters? I hear the sights are ready out of the box.
It does look like my sight has been adjusted to the left. Not to be confused with canted.

i haven't shot a rifle yet that wasn't zeroed right out of the box, even my wasr was , despite the ever so slightly canted front sight. maybe ive gotten lucky though.

My CAI wasn't. Picked it up almost a year ago. Thanks for the reminder. I need to stop procrastinating and just order one.
