I've sent my slide off to Richard (Canyon Creek Customs) for slide lightning with a two tone finished. Also just finish installed PRP Match Target easy fit. My next three mods will be the Wolff guide rod with a 22lb spring, Truglo's TFO sight sets and Ext. mag release. Hope you'll like it:

That looks awesome, how much did it cost to get the slide like that?

Very nice, I bet a brushed SS barrel would look good through the reliefs along with the SS guide rod. I think my first mods will probably be sights and a Wolf Guide rod in black.

OK... this may be a stupid question but...
What's the purpose of lightening the slide like that.
It looks cool but does it have a functional purpose?

I guess it would affect recoil the same a lightweight guide rod would.

Which wouldnt make sense to me. If he got it ported recoil would be reduced some but would blind you at night.

Or maybe hes trying to make his M as light as possible for more comfortable carry?

this actually called coffin cuts. it reduces the weight of the gun. if the barrel was ported, the barrel would have holes, so to speak of, and it would reduce recoil but would be blinding if shot at night.

That does look good. I agree with the SS barrel showing through the cuts would look good too.

Arent coffin cuts on the top of the slide? Like a big hole at the top side. A window that looks down to see the barrel? I think these are slots or slotted cuts.

Is it that blinding firing a ported barrel at night? Ive never done it before. I wouldnt plan on having the lights on if someone broke into my home at night to defend my home with a ported handgun. I just dont want to be blinded if I have to fire. So, is it that bright?

Dont listen to him. Yeah it is bad firing a ported barrel at night. You will lose some sight temporarely.

Id never have a ported handgun but thats me.

No. Slide lightening allows several things is often done to offset other added weight such as comps and cones. The purpose normally is to allow faster cycling and/or the use of lighter springs for the same cycle time. The G34 comes with a big coffin cut lightening. Yes coffin cuts are big coffin-shaped holes in the top of the slide. Not nearly as nice looking as this sample.

In this case, it just looks really cool and makes for a lighter weapon.
