I think I'm going to look into a trigger kit for the Mod 2 9mm or .45.
    Pros vs Cons? Input please!

I have installed prp drop in kits in all my xd's and had no problems whatsoever. Just my two cents.

I've installed the PRP ultimate match trigger in my XDm and love it. Installation was easy even with the minor amount of fitting I had to do and I had no issues.

I also installed their titanium safety and striker indicator. I went with Springer's striker for increased primer ignition reliability.

I don't really think you can go wrong either way. They are both reputable companies and make good products.

    ^ +1.

I have the Springer Precision in all of mine (4). I have no regrets.

I've tried out friends' PRP, and I am certain that had I gone that route, I'd also have no regrets.

Well, I'm going to have to put off the trigger job. I decided to go with night sights on the .45 and ordered XS Big Dot tritiums. I thought about going with TruGlo TFX but remembered how much I like the "dot the i" set up on my Kahr CM9. My 58 year old eyes reacquire the sights so much quicker with that set up. Thanks for the replies.

From what I've been reading here Springfield sights are a #&#&) to change without a proper tool---it doesn't seem to be an easy DIY job.

Someone here will suggest a better known and well-respected gunsmith if you chose that route.

I have Springer in my XDM9 5.25 and both my XDS 9 and 45 and like them, but I did not use their kits as they did not have kits then. They installed them in Bend Oregon. I have done kits on two mod 2's a 3.3" 45 and a 4" 9, they were great. I have a new Mod 2 40 that has not yet been fired so I will wait to install the kit until I have had a chance to shoot it some first. I have also installed PRP extended Grip safeties on my XDM and just now on the wife's Mod 2 4" . I wanted the extended safety as I broke my thumb tendon and have ony partial use of my thumb. The wife tried it and wanted one for herself.
