The Akins Accelerator bump-fire stock for the Ruger 10/22 is back. The stock that took the gun community by storm and caused the ruckus at the ATF has risen from the ashes! I had the chance to fire this stock at SHOT Show 2012 and it ran perfectly. No springs are present in this new version, it instead relies upon "isometric" mechanics where your non-shooting hand provides the spring power to make it work. This one is ATF approved and I will be testing it out over the next few days.

Look for a full review on my channel that will be posted shortly: Sturmgewehre's Channel - YouTube.

The name sounds like a lame diet thing you would see on a late-night infomercial.

How does it work compared to the bumpfire stock system?

I like it. It looks a lot less impractical than the AR and AK versions, due to the ability to use cheap rimfire ammo.

    A couple questions:

Did KIDD license it from Mr. Akins? I'm just curious about the business relationship there.

Also is the trigger group in the pic just a normal KIDD TG, or is it something special that works with this specific stock? Does the stock work with all standard 10/22 barreled actions?

A cross between Adkins diet and a colon cleanse? I like it!

Fostech Outdoors (YOUR BUMP FIRE STOCK SPECIALIST, THE BUMPSKI, SPRINGLESS AA2, & MORE) purchased the original patent to the "bump-fire" stock that Bill Akins was awarded in 2000. Mr. Akins is now affiliated with Fostech Outdoors.

The AA2 (Akins Accelerator 2) is being made by Fostech Outdoors on what I believe are the original molds. Fostech contracted with Kidd to produce the trigger groups for the new AA2 stock system.

It's identical in concept. The mechanism is different for the AA2 than the SSAR15 or SSAK47 stocks though. You can see the mechanics of the AA2 in this photo:
