Here's a new one. Went to Target today. Needed a bunch of odds and ends. My dad asked me to pick him up a bottle of Dayquil. Got to the checklane and the checker asked for ID - You're supposed to be 18 - I'm in my mid-40s, but 100 percent check isn't that unusual here. No, she wants to scan it in to the computer and tells me it's "State Law." She got kind of snippy, so I told her, "I know it's not your fault, but if you work for Nazi's, people will think you're a storm trooper." I left over $100 worth of stuff on the counter and walked out.

Went over to Fred Meyer, where the checker simply commented that I "looked 18" and went on - the computer did flash for an ID check.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is your answer. AKA DXM. Some people drink it to get "high". Source: My wife...

Edit: Some variations of Dayquil include Pseudoephedrine.

In Louisiana, they do ID scans to purchase anything with Pseudoephedrine... because 20 tabs of Claritin-D will supply a meth lab indefinitely, or something.

I know that here in Co. they sometimes card you for dayquil. I guess you can make some sort of drugs out of dayquil...

"skittles." kids pop the pill form in schools because apparently high school is so hard nowadays you need to be drugged out all day.

I know what's in it - it doesn't matter if some people drink it to get high - if it's dangerous or abusable, they need to add it to Schedule IV - not "scan you into the computer." I'll point out that this clearly isn't a law - but a company policy - even though the smocktards claimed it was state law.

Are you sure? I know in Oregon you have to have a Scrip to buy many cold meds. And WA was thinking about passing the same type of law.

Could it be a county law?

Thank the meth-heads for screwing it up for those of us who want to breathe freely.
