So, here is what I have. A Virginian Dragoon that my dad just gave me for my birthday. I remember this gun when I was a kid and the day he brought it home, and i awed at it, but haven't seen it since. That's because it was stored in the safe and in it's box that it actually was shipped in!!! And hasn't come out or even seen the light of day in over 20 years!!! the factory box with Interarms symbols and such all over it and the specs on the gun inside the box. This gun has NEVER been fired, and is completely stainless and a BEAST of a revolver, it weights A LOT how much im not sure but more than any 44 I've ever held. The Barrel is 8 3/8 long. The handle is engraved with the words "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and all the paper work is there for the gun even the NRA card for becoming a memeber! Oh and it's serial number is 3024. I doubt VERY highly too many people have this gun let alone one in this condition and with everything that in came with still in perfect condition.

Let me know what you all think and what it might be worth....:shock::shock:

All that was in the two boxes

    The Serial Number only 3024

The shipping box and gun box both LIKE NEW no dents dings or anything!

Again let me know what you think,

No offense, but I think your Dad is a bit of an idiot. A gun is a tool. Use it!

Now you've got the white elephant. If you shoot it, it drops in value. If it never leaves the safe, it isn't worth anything.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Trust me I asked him the SAME thing today! Haven't really even seen him in 4 years.... but yeah, he said he never shot it cause he has another .44 mag and a 45. that he does shot. Side note, my dad last I saw owns between 50-60 guns.... And most of them he does shoot, this just happened to be one that he didn't. Oh and he told me he got it for a good deal and just never opened the box again after that. Oh and no holster for it either he said... which he likes to carry his guns yes even his 44 mags so I guess that was also a deterrent for him to want to actually use it.

You can still find them for 400-500 every day of the week.

I dont' know the "exact" value of yours. Best thing to do would be to get it appraised by a professional.

Any idea where to find them in VA? I wouldn't mind having one myself.

You'll just have to shop around a bit. I saw one recently at Trader Jerry's in Salem, but it's gone now. I see them now and again when I'm out shopping.

sounds like it'd be of more value if you go shoot it.

When you say, "every day of the week" do you mean in this condition with the stainless and barrel and such or just in general... cause if it's in general than this should be worth WAY more than 400-500 right?

Just "in general" An unfired mint one would be worth more to me, although I don't know if it would be worth "way" more. However, with that said, I'm not a fan of them, so perhaps to someone wanting one, it could be worth double the price... I'm not sure, it's not a gun that appeals to me.

Not monetarily, but the fun factor would be through the roof! However, I can by ANY .44 to shoot this one's a little on the RARE side... how I like my meat... not how I like my guns
