I was glad to see Hickok45 add his input. He was the last of the members on Full30 not to say anything. Of course he took the wise, professional path...

It's not easy to find objective information on this Illinois issue. People have asked us to do a video on the issue, mainly to bash Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms. My answer still has not changed; from the start I've just said that I don't know enough of the specifics to really weigh in on one side or the other, and we would not likely do a video on it anyway. Not really fully understanding all the specifics of the situation, my answer to these requests is generally just "There are always two sides to every story," but it's not easy to get those sides in these "click-bait" days of the Internet.

Creating drama, whether it's really there or not, gets attention (clicks), so it's not easy to find intelligent, reasonable assessments of any situation, especially a situation where a couple of gun companies seem to be working against the 2nd Amendment? It just doesn't compute, so like a lot of people, we're just observing the situation and trying to read whatever objective, intelligent commentary on it that is out there. I don't know how "intelligent" or "objective" this article is, but it seems to be a relatively drama-free update, of sorts, with statements from both companies.

It's feels good and can even be exciting to "rush to judgement," but I have this pesky problem of preferring to understand a situation before pretending to be an expert on it.

I wouldn't expect anything less from someone who makes his living on getting free stuff from these companies.
    Would you?
Not bashing, just giving you "another side" to his story.

Hickock for the win. Awesome as usual and thanks for posting.

On the other end of the spectrum from Hickock we get that idiot Amsdorf with all the judgment of a 15 yo drama queen girl.

I would. If he thought there was anything more than click bait drama going on he'd say so.

Are you personally sponsored by anyone? If so, maybe just think about it for a minute.
I raced motorcycles. I know how sponsorship works. Even on a privateer level.

I'm still waiting for Springfield to pull their company name from the bill.

Not named specifically, yes. In most of what I've read, the articles mention an exemption for big box stores and manufacturers in the state. That was the caveat for the lobbying group (controlled by SA and RRA) to step aside. The box stores because of the total sales of firearms not being over 20% of total revenue and then specific type of manufacturer that Springfield and RRA happen to be as well.

Either way, because of the addition of those groups in the 3rd draft of the bill, Springfield is still in a win win position. The bill fails, they are a champion. If it passes, they still get an exemption but smaller gun shops and smaller manufacturers get screwed.

Springfield and RRA gave 100k to the lobbying group, that's not enough to control jack.
