I purchased a range officer operator last fall. I have put 100 rounds thru it since purchase. My son back east has been wanting a 1911 for a while and when he found out it was in 9mm his interest peaked. So, after much thought I have decided to give it to him. I know he will appreciate it more than me and i'm sure it will get used a lot more there. Maybe this will be just the excuse I need to get another gun!

Wow--that is indeed a fine gift for your son. Currently my only 1911 is the Range Officer Operator in 9mm and I just love shooting this gun. Don't think I'd be able to part with mine.

Very thoughtful and I'm sure your son will appreciate you every time he uses the gun.
