Ok, what's the difference between Speer Personal Protection and Speer Lawman ammo (.40 S&W) - besides $20 and 10 grains?

I think the Lawman is standard FMJ/TMJ rounds. Mostly for range use/plinking.

Personal Protection is the Gold Dot Series (I think). Typically are hollow points.

My error. It's "Law Enforcement Duty Ammo". GDHP 155 gr. $25/50 vs $30/20.

i have seen this with other brands

sometimes they package the same rounds in larger size boxes for sale to LE.

Also, some of the LE ammo is bonded, from what I have heard is more designed to retain it's shape when shot through objects (like windows, etc. . .)

basically LE ammo is same hollow point ammo as the personal protection

the 20-round boxes are in the "screw-the-non-LEO-consumer" boxes...

the 50-round boxes are in the "we-cater-to-LEO-because-they-buy-more-ammo" boxes...

    same bullet, different quantity/box

I watched a commercial made by Hornady explaining the difference between Critical Defense and Critical Duty and it was exactly what was mentioned above. Shooting through windshields at whatever degree angle the bullet was still able to pass through the windshield and preform as advertised in ballistic gel placed behind it.
