So, I have the Ruger LCP - like the gun, but do not like that the slide does not lock back after the last round, and its a little difficult to lock the slide back due to the small latch.
Anyway, I really like the size/compactness and zero failures of this gun...then why am I looking to replace? I would really like a 9mm that is nearly this same size/weight as the LCP because I carry this in an ankle holster which has grown on me. The holster works well with my job, and while driving.

    Main features Im looking for....
    Reliability
    Accuracy
    9mm
Similar in size as the LCP -I really like the concealability of the LCP.

Maybe I should looking for a revolver? Thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

    Yep, look for a revolver.

    S&W J frame.

Why the S&W J frame? because its a S&W or because of the size?

I'd look at a j frame or a kahr 9mm. The kahr cm9 was the amallest 9mm i've played with. Wouldn't consider it a pocket gun though. Nor would i a j frame unless you buy pants with the right sized pockets. For ankle carry you should be good to go!

I'd get a Ruger LCR 9mm revolver for pocket or a Walther PPS M2 beats out the G43 and even Performance Center Shield in every comparison I've seen.

Another Kahr vote if it has to be 9mm.

J frame if you can live with 38.

Partially because it's an S&W...but a J-frame is also a smaller package than an LCR. Also, more options--hammerless, shrouded hammer, hammer/spurless hammer...all steel (my preference; better control I've found) or lightweight alloy...even ultralightweight scandium alloy frame with titanium cylinder.

My usual pocket carry is a S&W 649 in a Bianchi pocket holster.

The new LCP locks back after the last round and has a better trigger.

During the summer, my pocket carry is a Kahr PM9. Carry it in a desantis pocket holster and have been satisfied with both.
