I purchased a "new" sig pro 2022 in 9mm. After taking the pistol home and cleaning it I noticed the frame serial number does not match the number on the barrel. Is this normal?

    It doesn't matter.

    Only the frame S/N matters.

Is the number on the barrel a few digits short of the serial number?

It's not an issue IF you live in the USA. It's a fairly large issue in other countries.

Some Exeter made Sigs don't have serial numbers on the barrel. Just caliber and date code.

The matching barrel from the factory could've had a blemish?

    How's it shoot?

Are you sure it is a serial number on the barrel?? As far as I know only German made SP2022s have serial numbers on the frame, slide, and barrel and I don't believe they have made SP2022s in Germany to export to USA for quite a while now.

    Great pistol BTW, congrats.
