Looking for some recommendations for pocket carry. I'm leaning towards a wheel gun; just need some ideas of what I should be looking into.

    Thanks

I carry a Kel-tec P3AT a lot of the time. I carry it in a Galco ankle holster; a pocket holster by pocketholsters.com; and have a Crossbreed microclip on order.

For pocket carry I use a Kahr PM9 that works great for me. If I were to go the revolver route I'd likely get a S&W 642 or a 442 with laser grips.

Im going tomorrow to (hopefully) pick up a Ruger LCP.... it just feels like such better quality than the Kel Tec, and not much more ($279 is what the lcp is gonna cost)... If I were going with a revolver, I would get the S&W 642 or the 442 as butcher 50 recommended... both quality revolvers, double action only, and shoot great

I tried both the 642 and PM9 and the LCP won.
It is lighter, smaller, and thinner than the other two..

    PM9 vs LCP

The 642 and Kahr PM9 are fine handguns, but for pocket carry the LCP wins it......IMHO

I carry mine in a High Noon Pocket Grabber..

The finish started to wear so I had CCR finish it in CeraPlate (electroless nickel).

S&W 642 in a DeSantis Nemesis for me.
I carried a KelTec P32 for seven or eight years, then switched to the revolver.
I shoot well with it, it is a simple manual of arms, and it does well either IWB or front pocket!

What do most people think about the LCP vs the Kel-tec P3AT? The reason I'm looking more at a wheel gun is that from what I've heard semi-auto mouse guns tend to jam.

The new mouse guns dont jam much anymore. I have a kahr P380 with 500 rounds no jams so far. I have a keltec with like 600 with 1 failure to extract from limp wristing. A wheel gun is hard to pocket carry.

Im 5'9 and about 175 and find it hard to pocket carry a j frame with regular jeans not to baggy not tight though. I guess you could in baggy khakis but not really in most my stuff. I guess if someone is really big they can i dont find it comfortable. I find a kahr PM9 size the max for comfortable pocket carry with most pants. again it really depends how large of a guy you are and how big your pants are. I mean i know a guy that IWB carried a DE50.

I just noticed you said judge i dont think thats a good pocket gun what kind of clothes are you guys wearing.

I weigh 350 pounds so I can carry my xd 40 service in a cheapy blackhawk felt holster in the pocket of my pants pretty well. But not everyone is committed to concealed carry enough to make the sacrifice to get to 350 pounds like me.

Seems like many didn't read all of your post. I pocket carry a S&W 642 with Crimson Trace Laser Grips. Depending on the pants I use a Galco pocket holster or no holster at all. I don't use a holster if I am carrying it in a jacket pocket

I like my S & W 642 with CT laser grips in a pocket hostler. I carry in my car, pants, or in my jacket pocket.

    Aren't you perceptive??..
The OP is leaning towards a wheel gun, others are only trying to educate the OP about other/better options.
I found the 642 with CTC LG-405 grips do-able, the CTC has a small pocket in the backstrap that helps cushion the recoil of the +P loads.
But (for me) the weight and thickness of the cylinder made it less desirable for pocket carry.
Pocket carry being the thread title.
In a cargo pants pocket, my usual summer attire, the pistol would flop back and forth with every step in a pocket holster.
It was annoying to say the least.
The LCP doesn't do that, it stays put.
It is also much easier to reload.
Please don't try to belittle others, that yes, did read the OP, for suggesting other options.
I feel the OP is smart enough to go thru the posts and decide what works best for him and his needs.
If the OP does choose to go with the 642/442, it would be a wise choice if it meets his needs.
Ruger SP101 is a good choice as well, but even heavier than the 642/442.

Got a walther PPS in 9 on layaway, fits well in the pocket and has three different mags that can extend or shorten the grip.
