A picked up a CZ 75B yesterday. It is a 2009 model, and hasn't been shot very much. The guy said it just sat in his safe. It had a few little wear spots on the front of the slide, no big deal...I touched them up with a bluing pen
Came with the box, docs, 2 mags...all the factory goodies. Even included a set of CZ coco bolo grips. I traded him part cash and some .45 ammo, ended up being a great deal.
Can't wait to hit the range later this week. I've heard great things about how sweet they shoot!
Dry firing feels very good. Of course the DA is revolver heavy, but SA is nice and smooth. Other than my revolver, this is just the 2nd hammer fired pistol I've owned. I'm guessing it's in the 4-ish # range, but I'll check it.
Congrats, you got a fine shooting pistol and one of the most used pistols around the world. The all steel construction makes for a comfortable shooting gun.
Thanks, guys. If A) we're able to get out later (we got ice & snow overnight) and B) the range is open, I may get to shoot it later. I'll see how it plays out...
Think you are going to enjoy the CZ 75. The little bump in the single action takes a slight amount of acclimatization, but once you're used to it, it is smooth as all get-out. My CZ will shoot poofy loads as light as 3.3 grains of Win 231 under a 122 Lead TC, still cycle, still lock back, and still put 15 shot groups under 2.5 inches at 7 yards without more than elbows for a rest.
I went to the range today and shot 200 rounds. As I said before, this is only my second hammer fired semi auto. The SA trigger pull is nice and smooth, and the all steel frame really helps with recoil and follow up shots. It functioned flawlessly with no hiccups. My only regret was not taking more ammo
This is my first magazine; 5 yards, 115gr Federal white box (this stuff is dirty and smoky, and every now and then a round seems to travel like a bottle rocket lol.)
This is from 10 yards, same ammo.
7 yds: the left target is 115gr Federal white box, the right target is 115gr Freedom Munitions reman. The FM seems to be more accurate, less smoke and fouling.
Last target. 5 yds, 45 rounds center shooting fairly fast, and 5 rounds controlled fire to the head. Federal white box.
I'm very pleased with my first CZ. I can tell it will be going to the range with me on a regular basis!
For the CZ owners, how often do you fully disassemble it for cleaning? I think I'll field strip it tonight and clean the barrel, slide, and wipe the frame and magazine well down good.
Snap, is it tricky taking the firing assembly and everything out and reassembling?
If you just mean a basic field strip, it can be done in 15 seconds if your assembly pin is loose enough or lubed. Check to make sure unloaded. Ease the slide back so the marks on the frame match up, push out the pin with your thumb, slide the slide off, pull out the recoil spring, pull out the barrel.
I have never disassembled mine further as there was no need to, although I did remove the ridiculous mag stop spring that came with my 1996 version. Back then there were a lot fewer choices and no reliable internet to research; I am really glad I chose the CZ75b over my other options. It is really a pistol that has over-delivered from a value standpoint.
