"Painted" my lower receiver today...*Pics*

    .17 cent crayons from Wal-Mart and this is what came out.

    I'm very pleased! Was going to do Testor's paint but that required to much energy, money, and effort for something that can easily be done with a crayon and look just as good.

    Nice, i love the crayons. Rub in, scrape off excess, rub down with a patch with a dab of hobbies on it and BAM!!

    Crayon... made of wax?? Will it melt after 200-500 rounds?? My AR get warm here in alaska..... post your pics after 500 rds. Good luck.

    I used white crayon for the lettering on my xd40 slide, after a few hundred rounds in 100 degree weather it didn't even smudge. I think it should be fine on that lower.

    Wax has a melting point of ~165F

    I doubt your receiver gets that warm.

    After you apply CLP over top of it as well it has a thin layer of protection as well. Many people do this and have great success.

    It's also VERY easy to touch up.
