Should get plenty of good service out it. Finding a hater made specifically for that model might be a challenge. It'll likely fit a holster made for a TRL-1 XD though.

I had 2 tlr4s break. The mount is plastic. Over tightening easily cracks it. The gun hitting the ground also broke it at the mount.

I remembered I traded the next factory replaced TLR 4 I received straight up on this site to a guy whom wanted a laser for a TLR HL 800 . Or he was asking a bill. Win for me!

I ditched the idea of a weapon mounted light, cancelled my order for the TLR-3 for a Fenix PD35TAC with a mount that fits up to a 1.02" light... I have several lights to play with now!

Must have been older models...? Mine is all aluminum, including the mount. The model-spcific keys are plastic, but they don't endure much stress.

That's great they finally ditched the polymer. Seems they finally fixed the issue. Good to know bc I've seen those for $70-80 lately. The mount had kept me away. Appreciate the info.

    Nope... my mistake.
I just got home and checked it. You are correct, it's polymer.

The USP adapter I bought is aluminum, that must have been where I got the idea.

I still say it's a fairly rugged little piece considering the way I put the boots to it. But it hasn't been dropped or used anywhere but the range... probably never will (bedside gun).

BTW, the red laser models are considerably less than the green (by like, 50+%). I got the red because I wanted to toy-around with it a bit before I dropped serious coin on one... I'm still ambiguous on the whole idea.

I tried that unit for precisely the same reason. It was a cheap intro into a laser and it came w a light. After I ran out of light saber sounds to make it lost its luster. Luckily, I caught someone wanting the tlr4 that had the TLR1 HL. Done deal.

I did drop the light while mounted on the gun. That rarely if ever happens but it did and it landed directly on the bezel from about waist high. Snapped. The other time I over tightened it. It cracked. Regular wear they are prolly okay. I was just over sending it back In and wanted something brighter minus the light saber.

I'm still just not sold on lasers personally.

I don't think I'd want anything like it on a carry piece, but it seems harmless enough for a range or HD gun.

With that said, it's sitting in a drawer.
