Question for NY ccw holders, lawyers, police officers, etc.: After reading New York State Consolidated Laws Penal 400.00, which details the firearms laws of NY, it is my understanding that my license to carry permits me to carry anywhere except schools and places prohibited under a federal or local law. In other words, the only location that New York state prohibits is schools (and the five boroughs of NYC). Is this correct? Federal law prohibits all federal buildings (including the post office) and national parks. Is this correct? Are there any other locations off limits in NY state? I'm a resident of Monroe County. According to the County Clerk, Monroe County parks are off-limits. Anyone from Monroe County know of any additional restrictions in our county? Thanks for any help. Btw, I'm asking because I finally bought a holster for my XD45 (Crossbreed Supertuck) and I would like to verify that my understanding of our laws is correct.
