I have a stupid question about USPSA in California. With the 10 rd mag limits how are Limited and Open shooters able to run the course? Does mag capacity not apply to shooting competitions? Just curious.

Possession of a "high-cap" mag isn't illegal here. What's prohibited is the sale, transfer, or importation of these kinds of mags. So, if you had the mags prior to the start of the ban, it's still legal to own the mags.

Down the road this will be a larger problem. That's why it's great that USPSA created L-10 and limited Production to 10 rounds. It may come to the point that they need to do something similar for Open.

Hey Gryff, you happen to know what hours hotshots sat. action pistol hours are? I just took the class there a couple of weeks ago and was gonna head up tommorow to run a few courses.

    9:30am to 1:30pm

There are two bays used for the practice. One has a static line at about 12 yards. You can draw from the holster and rapid fire, but you just can't move and shoot. The other is a mock IPSC stage, where an R.O. is present to run shooters through the stage. You just put your name on the list, and you can take as many turns as time allows.

Yea I did a few rounds the other day after the intro saftey class. Gonna be shooting at bullseye tommorow since the girl wants to go shoot also. Gotta get her her own gun so she can head up there with me : )
