Just picked up my xds the other day. Went and shot 50 rds 230grain fmj. was noticing a big grouping low and left. Is this a grip problem or could sights be off center right out of the box. Thx for the help

I can only speak for myself ... But it's clear that I jerk the trigger of my XD-S, and I'm working on fixing that. I've never owned a pistol with this trigger system before; so for me, there is a learning curve involved. I love the gun; works flawlessly ... Especially when the trigger man does his part....

It's not the gun it's the shooter.

I have been shooting 45ACP's for 40 years but when I purchased a XDs last summer it always hit low, no matter what I did.

I live a fairly short distance from SA so I drove down there with it and they could not get it to hit anything but low either.

    They replaced it.

I had the same problem...My local range watched me and then handed me a practice pistol with a laser to see if I was trigger pulling which i was not doing. Then he fired it and noticed the rear sight was off. he set the rear sight and then it was dead on!

thanks for the replies. i have been watching videos on this gun and doing alot of reading. Im more inclined to think that its me than anything. maybe flinching waiting for the shoot to go off. also i read its better to pull the trigger with the pad of your finger instead of using the first knuckle which i noticed myself doing. Love the gun though

    Hi All

I have had my XDS for a couple of months now as my new carry gun, I put over 100rnds thru when brand new and regardless of trigger action always shot low and left unless i corrected. Shot around 6 more times each around 50 or 100 rnds. 7 yrds low and left 15 yards even lower and lefter! I am retired LE 26 years and never had this problem before I am pretty sure it is not me. Any suggestions as I really like the concealability over my glock 19! Are SA willing to look at the gun or am I stuck?

+1 for shooter problem. I've owned my XDS for over a month, and I can say it will expose every single flaw I have as a shooter! Most of my initial shots were low & left, a clear indicator of jerking the trigger or anticipating recoil. For the most part, I'm over it now. Love the XDS. Waiting on my Theis holster, then it will be one of my EDC's.

Bottom line: get some snap caps & practice practice practice!

Even though its a different platform I had problems with my XD-45 service model when I got it with the low and left so I handed it to a friend and he was keeping nice groups with it, so I kept practicing with it and eventually after about a good month of learning the trigger I'm hitting dead on now.
