I picked up an XDM 45 compact last weekend. Took it out today for the first time. I didn't have much time to shoot since I'm oncall for work this weekend and got a call while I was out. But WOW. I sold a Taurus PT145 and got this gun. This gun is Sooo much better. First shot was less then .5" from bullseye at 7 yards. Made a mess of the bullseye area after a extended mag. The Taurus I was lucky to get half the shots on the target... I have done allot more work with my grip and that may have quite a bit to do with it too. The Taurus's trigger was so long that I would end up jerking it,a nd I know that was most of my problems with it.
I just got a 3.8 XD M 45 it is my first XD, I have been a Glock man for the last 15+ years, and was REALLY impressed. Accuracy was excellent recoil MUCH less than I expected. Maybe more XD are in my future. My daily carry is a Glock 26 or a Rohrbraugh 9 any suggestions for a follow up XD.

The XDm Compact in 9mm is an excellent carry choice and with the full size mag. and extension it's like shooting a full size pistol. If you need something smaller you might want to check out the new XDs in 9mm and if you want a very small .45 ACP there's the original XDs in .45 ACP.
I just picked up the XDm 4.5 .45. Can't wait to get it to the range. Originally I wanted a 3.8 but they are impossible to find in NC so I settled on the full size. I'm sure I will not be disappointed.
I still have my eye on a compact XD but I think I'll wait for an XDs to pop up for a CCW option
Welcome and congratulations. I also just added the compact 3.8 .45 XDM, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I have the fullsize XDM in .45 as well and really like that, but am crazy about my compact 3.8 XDM in 9mm. So I know the compact .45 will really rock. I wasn't looking to buy another when I went to Cabelas, but the compact .45 looked lonely in the display case - the last SA they had.
Years ago Chrysler used to have a TV commercial that invited you to come test drive a new Chrysler, and the spokesman would open the driver's door and point to the seat, saying "Fifteen minutes HERE can change fifteen YEARS of buying habits." I think that exact same thing is true of the XD and XDM series. Comparatively, feature for feature I feel they are the best polymer handgun on the market today. And they are certainly equal in quality to any other maker.
