    Just checking in,

Grabbed my first XDM 9mm 3.8 Compact yesterday. Felt great.

I've a question though, with regard to the grip size and the extension grip size, I'd like to know what number stands for what

    1 - Small?
    2 - Medium
    3 - Large?

    Thanks

You have the order correct. I believe they come from the factory with the medium back strap installed.

Also, the grip extension number correlates to the back strap number. 1 to 1, 2 to 2 etc.....

Thank you for the welcome all.

Odd enough, mine comes with 1 and 3 X-tension piece to be used on the 19rd mags only. I've couple more 19 full size mags and want to get the x-tension piece for them?

Are factory the only ones I can get or are there any DIY or 3rd party pieces?

    please advise,
    Thanks.

They are for the 19 round mags because they are longer and would leave a gap between the mag and grip. The lower capacity mags fit flush. I think you can only get them from Springfield, but I'm not positive on that. If you need more contact them and order some or search around at LGS and see if they have or can get them.

I've haven't seen any other maker put that type of piece on the market yet, so I assume Springfield is the only place you could purchase them.

Oh, congrats on the new 3.8, I love mine! And welcome aboard...from Texas.

I'm using my #2, but if you or anyone else would be interested in trading your #2 for my #1 or #3 I'd be interested. These appear to be sold out everywhere and Springfield customer service told me 6-8 weeks backorder or longer is to be expected, no matter what you are buying from them.

I'd love to trade you but Mine didn't come with number 2, just 3 &1.

I guess I'd have to look into something else or a custom made version.
