This is my new favorite tv show (Discovery Channel Sunday evenings). A man and woman (strangers to each other) are paired and must survive 21 days in wilderness environments with no food, shelther, water, or clothing. The men tend to make rash decisions or take undo risks, getting injured and thus become a burden on the women. Rarely is brute strength an asset, whereas endurance, cooperation, and planning are key. The chance of glimpsing an unblurred side boob makes it difficult to turn away. You may actually learn some survival skills too, unlike the contrived "Survivor" show. I have decided that I would probably only last 7 to 10 days under these conditions. The participants have survival and/or military backgrounds and barely survive the 21 days. Episodes so far include the Costa Rican jungle, Tanzanian Savannah, and Maldives islands. There are real dangers including huts on fire, a poisonous snake leading to a producer losing part of his foot, thorns and life threatening foot infection, incapacitating sunburn, swimming in shark infested waters, food/water poisoning, predatory hyenas, dehydration, malnutrition, and falls/accidents.
