...yeah, had to do it. Expensive gun and a big gun that only holds 15+1 but I can fix that with the jet funnel. It is brand new and came with three 15 round polymer mags. Lately, I have taken a big liking to the USP guns and this one fits into the holster for my HK 45CT and HK USP 45C, so that helps. Already ordered the extended mag release and will probably turn this one into a light LEM as well. Range time soon.
Congrats, glad to see you followed through with it! It's very accurate, soft shooting and fun to shoot. I love it.
IMO, I find the round count of 15 to be acceptable given the grip length. The grip length is very similar to the G19 and P226 which each hold 15. I plan to do the jet funnel kit also and at the least will do the match kit.
Congrats again and I think you're really going to enjoy it at the range.

Once you have the LEM and jet funnel kit installed all you'll need is some Novak sights and you'll have your own Combat Competition USP 9. They look awsome IMO.
I'd be interested to know how you think it compares to the P30 you had.
@bunk22 congratulations on the new H&K, I'm a little envious. I you had to pick between your USP 9mm and your Sig 226, which gun do you think you would like better, and why?
I've been toying with the idea of getting the USP 9mm for long time, but I picked the 226 Tacops instead. I love the 226, but you know how it is. I had the H&K Mark23, and every time I see one of you guys post a new H&K tread, I think back to how much I loved that gun and wished I had a H&K again.

I know you didn't ask me but I'll give my opinion. To me the Sig has a smoother trigger out of the box and the SRT may be a touch quicker than even the Match trigger, but not by much. I think the HK's have a shorter trigger pull from the half cocked position. Again, not by much but noticeable.
I love the feel of an all metal gun but if I had to pick one it would be the.....USP 9. I shoot the HK's better with less effort and for some reason just like the USP's more. I still like Sig though and the P226 is a great gun. That said I just don't shoot mine much, don't prefer the .40 and will probably sell it this fall for another HK. I have to go with what works best for me.
For me, it depends on why am I choosing? Will the gun be both a home defense and carry gun? Will it be home defense only? So it depends and if it were home defense only, Sig 226 with Mec-Gar 20+1 mags, SRT trigger. If I were to use it for both carry and home defense, the USP 9 with the LEM trigger. For carry, the USP 9, with the LEM trigger. For a range only, fun gun, the USP 9.
@StreetFightingMan I've looked at this tread about a dozen times. Not only did Bunk get a great gun, he managed to take a very good pic of it too. I'm getting the wife a 229 40cal Legion for her birthday in August and I'm hunting one down the HK as we speak. I'll just get the Sig and the HK and call it a day on gun purchases for the rest of the year. It will take a while to find the HK I want anyway. I want the Version 3 (i think that's what it's called) that has the decocker and no safety. I'm also left handed, so I'll have to see if I can find a shop that will swap the decorker to the right side of the gun for me.
Well, went and picked up an HK P2000 LEM off Gunbroker for $635. I had to, I have the HK fever. If I don't work this week, I'll pick it up or have to wait till next week for pics and range. Glad I got the LEM but from what I understand, it's a V2 so I may have to convert to the light LEM.
V1--decocker with safety, right-handed
V2--" ", but left hand
V3--decocker only, right hand
V4--" ", left hand
V5--DAO w/safety-right hand
V6--" ", left hand
V7--DAO, no safety
V8--no variant
V9-no decocker, safety only, right hand
V10--" ", left hand
Edit--duh. Just realized you were talking about the P2000...
Yeah, the gunbroker ad was for a NIB P2000 LEM but didn't say light LEM so I'm not sure which version but assume the V2. My P30SK V1 is the light LEM version. This kit may help with the pre-travel of the standard LEM.
My cousin has that same pistol. I have borrowed it quite often and have lots of trigger time on the USP9.
I love the way the full size USP9 shoots. Very little recoil and the long sight radius means you can easily hit well with the gun. Very reliable....they will eat anything you throw in them.
It is a little on the huge side, when compared to my EDC 3rd Gen G19 but a pleasant shooter and perfect for home defense, open carry or range use. Concealing it would be a challenge but if you are a big guy or are creative with your clothing choices...I think it could be done.
Someday...I will buy an HK pistol and when I do, it will probably be that one!
I thought about the Mk23 and have range time with it but it's a big fun for what, 10 rounds? I do have the FNX Tactical with RMR, so I'm happy with that
I recently sold my ling time XDS 4.0 in 45, it just never got used. I'm not sold on the Shield 45, time will tell though!
