Picked up a used PX4 Storm in 9mm. Not much for looks, but it's growing on me. Shoots great, love the DA/SA trigger with the decock only option. Being my first 9mm I'm trying to get all the info I can on ammo. I've always been a 45ACP type of guy. Really enjoying it so far.

A few friends have the PX 4. They do seem to have decent riggers and good ergonomics. As far as I know all have been 100% reliable with both target and self defense ammo.

I have found the Federal HST work well for my 9mm needs.

Agree, Federal HST, best deal is usually 50rd boxes from SGAmmo.com.

My preferred target ammo is Perfecta from WM. YMMMV, IANAL, FWIW.

Nice, I've been messing around with a PX4 I picked up a few weeks ago, it does have a nice trigger.

Any particular grain I should try first? The PX4 is a 4" barrel.

    Congrats on the new PX4!
My Beretta 92 handles 115 and 124gr rounds just fine, don't think I've ever shot 147gr rounds. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Beretta designs around the 124gr NATO round.

The 92 will run 147's all day long.

I know mine does, and has.

Try several different weights (and brands) and find out what YOUR gun likes.

    ^^^Pretty much this.

Find some LE boxes of 124 and 147gr Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot and Winchester Ranger-T and see which one it likes best and use that for defense.

The rest of the FMJ stuff, shoot what it likes...and isn't stupid dirty or expensive.

I wanted one until I realized it was pretty much the same weight and size of a 92. I don't see much upside over my M9

124+P Gold Dots are your best bet. ;)
