Ok so I have a question about magazine rattle in my xd45 service. Not the general Mag rattle that everyone talks about... This rattle is caused by the magazine moving around in the bottom of the magwell. (at the bottom of the hand grip). I don't know if it's just a .45 thing, or maybe just a my gun thing. It's done it ever since it was new, and I've finally become tired of it. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so what have you done to correct it? I've considered painting the mag (mostly the bottom half) to take up some slop. But I figured maybe I should ask the pro's around here first... I can post pictures if you need I've just been too lazy to figure out my own photobucket password haha.

Mines brand new and manufactured in 2011. I've had every model prior to my 45. My magazine rattles a bit too. If you're sneeking up on a suspect hold your base Plate firm...

Thanks. But I'm more bothered by the fact that the gun is making noise in the holster. SUPER annoying

The keys in your pocket probably make noise too. You're just not listening.

In time, you won't be annoyed by the mag noise either. ;)

I think I read somewhere that a wrap of electrical tape towards the base of the mag solved that issue. Not sure if you'd like to try that or not? Just throwing it out there.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks guys. I've had the gun for 5 years now and it's now at the point where it drives me nuts. I'll try the electrical tape trick. If that works then I'll devise a more permanent solution by use of paint. I'll post a thread about it when I'm done if it works.

Yeah. I've got 4 mags for that gun. The 2 that came with it new, and 2 more new ones I bought within the last year. It must just be my gun because I've never heard of anyone else having the same issue. I'll go to my LGS this week sometime and maybe see if the new xd45's have the same slop. It's probably just me being picky haha.
