Went to the range today with 350 rounds and thought I'd try a gun I haven't shot before so I went with an M&Pc 9mm. Wow, I am impressed, fantastic trigger, great ergonomics, slightly smaller and lighter than the XD I think.

Anyone have experience with them? Is it worth it to replace say my XD9sc with it? Not so sure about that but damn, it was a nice shooter.

I plan on getting one some day, perhaps in a 40.
I don't think the minor differences are worth swapping a gun you already have, my $0.02.

IMO the M&P is more on par with the XDm. I think it beats an XD only because of better ergos.

    all IMO of course.

I've got three. 9c, 40c, and 45 FS. Love them all. Didn't "unload" the XD, just added to the collection

I have both of these guns and greatly prefer my XD9SC. The XD9SC has a higher round capacity and far better ergonomics (YMMV). As far as size/weight they are roughly the same, obviously slight differences but I don't see either of them having the "upper hand". They are essentially the same size but yet my XD9SC holds more rounds and if I use my fullsize magazine it holds FAR more rounds!!

It's definitely not an upgrade. They are pretty equal - just a matter of preference, my friend. I think you got the itch and need to just bite on another gun purchase.

The M&P C won't take the full size M&P mags?

IMO the M&P is far superior. I owned a XD9SC for about 2 months. I've owned my M&P9c for over 2 years and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it. With Apex triggers, M&P's have the best trigger of any striker fired gun. The M&P is A LOT easier to work on, has less felt recoil IMO, and it's made in the U.S.!

From what I saw, I can't say it's far superior or even superior...it's on par for me. I will say its trigger was superior, probably the best of strider fired I've felt as well. Ergo's are different for everyone. It is close for me, maybe a bit easier to shoot with the M&P due to the lower bore axis but even that is subjective.

I like my M&P 9c. It would be better with a trigger job, I'm sure. I shoot the XD9c just a bit better, though.

I have never shot the compacts, but had a full size 45ACP, and loved it.

the M&Ps are a fantastic line.

I have the full size 45, it's just a different XD, roughly the same with the XD winning on detail points.

As far as I know they will, but the M&P only came with the compact lo-cap mags. The XD9 sub compact standard magazine holds more than the M&Pc standard mags. If you want the M&P to hold as much as the XD you'll have the mag hanging out the bottom.

The biggest problem would be to replace a gun, my XD9sc, that has been flawless in 6000 rounds. I have replaced a two guns in the last year but that was due to they both had multiple issues, a Kimber UC II and a Glock 36. I just can't bring myself to replace a well working gun. Of all the guns in my signature, the G19 has had the most issues (minor) and it would probably be the one to be replaced though I should just add another to my collection. I just don't like to have safe guns...like to shoot the all.

I had an M&P 9 (full size). It had a wonderful feel and was a good shooter. I sold it and picked up an XD9sc and later an XDM9 (full size). I must say I was interested when I saw the M&P9c. Sexy little firearm. But, I am very happy with the XD9sc and the XDM.

The XDsc mags hold a whopping 1 more round. The XD full-size mags hold one less, a wash. You can use the xgrip adapter on the M&P full size mag for a seamless grip.

Personally I think the M&Pc is damn near perfect.

Dude, you're killing me as it was one of the best ergonomics wise I've fired. It was accurate as all get out. I keep thinking I want one in my collection. Yeah, the X-grips mean a full load out.

I have read some bad things about the trigger. But in my opinion I want one in the 45 flavor. I would want to upgrade the trigger anyway. I want a glock and a S&W in 45 acp to go along with my XDm 45, all with upgraded triggers. Variety is the spice of life. If you do not want to upgrade the trigger, then you might want to reconsider.
