so i got a weaver laser and put it on and tryd it out and when i snuged it down it made the slide very firm and hard to pull back is that normal for it to do that or do i have a knock off laser?

Welcome to the forum, you should go introduce yourself in the new members area...
I am pretty new to hand guns but it sounds like it might be too tight. Maybe it is distorting the polymer frame causing the slide to not travel correctly. Once again I am a newbie and just guessing.

How much did you pay for this laser? I have checked out the Weaver lasers, and they seem pretty, um, inexpensive. I can guarantee you that you get what you pay for with these. You can so a search and read reviews on a lot of laser products on this site. I have both the TLR-2 and the Crimson Trace Laserguards. They cost a pretty penny, but I am not worried about them suddenly not working at the wrong moment.

Bolting up the same way, looking cool the same way and working the same way are not the same. I would rather spend $200 bucks on a very reliable laser/light combo than throwing $20, $50 or $100 in the toilet.

Honestly not trying to be harsh, it is just a lesson you are going to have to learn if you plan to shoot/carry. You really get what you pay for in this world.

I guess I did not see the one that mounts on the slide. Makes no sense, that I can figure out, to do so. The Picatinny rail is where it should mount, not on the slide. Where exactly is yours mounted...can you post a picture?

If it is actually mounted on the rail, then it should, in no way, interfere with the action of the slide. That would mean it was not made for that gun.

Forget that comment. I am guessing you are talking about cinching it down so tight on the rail that it is interfering with the slide? That also makes no sense because the polymer frame should not be budging at all under that sort of stress. It just makes no sense.

If you take the laser back off, does the slide pull back easier?

    ^THIS???

Trouble shoot it. I don't see how this laser would do anything at all to the slide movement..

yes it slides easy with no problem what it is is its crushing the rail on the polymer frame and the guide for the slide thats on the frame is moving when its tight

I would take it off and try to sell it to some unsuspecting...no, just put it in a drawer, or the trash. There is no way that should be doing that to your weapon. Save up, for as long as it takes, to get a quality laser. Not kidding. I can put my TLR-2 on in a flash, turn the set screw with my fingers five times, and it does not budge, fall off, interfere with the slide, nothing. It simply works each and every time that I toggle the switch.

    Period. End of sentence.
