A G40. After thinking all week about getting a Sig nightmare 1911 357 sig, I decided I wanted a RO operator 9mm instead. Went out looking today and got this instead. I really thought I was done buying glocks. Guess not.
Congrats! I like it, so is this going to be a range or wood gun, but if it going to be ccw it will take you an extra five second just to draw that sucker. I have the Gen4 G29 and love it.
I'm only 5'10. If it was my ccw, it would drag on the ground. This is going to be a range gun, and pest control on the farm, cuz sometimes a .22 just isn't enough fun for pests
The g40 is optic ready from the factory. I'm just wondering if a less expensive optic (burris, redfield, ect ) will do fine. I am also curious if I need to have cowitness sights because the g40 sights are too low for that.
Right now I'm planning on a fast fire 3 and go without taller sights. If I need to I'll add them later, but I'm not concerned about using iron sights as a backup as this will just be a funzies gun.
When I was looking into a reviews of the FNX 45 Tactical I was reading where people were having issues with brass ejecting straight up and hitting the RMR. Will this be an issue or will it be fine provided the Glock ejects off to the side? I know some Glocks have issues with that.
Hmm interesting. I guess when I shoot I'll need to pay attention to the ejection pattern. Of the couple videos I've watched online, it doesn't seem to be a problem but it's definitely something to think about.
