These people are driving me nuts. They call at all hours, and won't stop no matter how many times I tell them. I was reading up on it, and apparently there are around 70 companies in the St. Louis area trying to sell them. The company that keeps calling me has a New Jersey number though. 973-804-0196. I just filed a complaint with the FTC at Federal Trade Commission. All you need is their number or company name to identify them, and it only takes about 5 minutes. From what I've read they are well aware of the problem and are trying to figure out which ones are ignoring the do not call registry and/or calling repeatedly. If you are not on the registry, you can sign up at the ftc site in about 30 seconds.

quite a few dang times and ALWAYS from a different number. i had started saving the numbers as "waranty scam #" on my phone, but it was always a new number so i gave up.

i have 203-608-5005 and 717-432-5696 saved as warranty scam numbers.

Same thing but a company claiming you asked about mortgage info (complete BS) and wanting to sell you 'grant info': 213-228-8111. Ugh!

I've thankfully never gotten them, but then again we are signed up for every no-call list there is, mobile and home phones. FWIW, when we switched to Vonage we noticed a significant drop in sales call volume, even before we got on the list.

The mobile phone part really ticks me off. It's illegal for a company to auto-dial cell phones because the cell owner can be charged for the call. They can dial it by hand, but we know they aren't doing that.

We received many calls from 'companies' wanting to give us low interest loans, re-finance opportunities, etc.. All our phones are on the National Do Not Call List. If I actually get through to a human I try to get as much information from them and report them to the National Do Not Call List and the FTC. When I explain to them that I'm on the Do Not Call List they usually hang up on me.. Buncha bastards. I had one angry caller tell me to stick the DNC list up my ass.. LOL

One company kept calling my uncle, so he finally told them that he drove a '20 something Studebaker, which is of course BS. The guy accused him of lying, so he asked to speak to a manager, and told him the same thing. The manager got mad and hung up, and they never called again.

I haven't gotten any of those kind of calls in years. Around springtime we used to get the calls from the basement waterproofers.

Do you notice any water in your basement? NO

Then they go to......... Do you notice how damp your basement is? NO

    Etc. Etc.

Finally when they called the next time I said......... "I don't have a basement, I live in a mobile home." They never called again. :)
