I am interested in a holster that would accept a 9mm XDm with suppressor attached. Has anyone seen a holster that would accomplish this task?

Picasa Web Albums - Greg <--- Please check out this link to my XDm 9mm with suppressor. I would really like to holster this gun with the suppressor attached. I have not seen a holster that would allow this, have you?

    Thanks!

Cool can. It looks like the diameter of your suppressor is bigger than the slide/frame which would make it hard to find a kydex holster for it.

My blackhawk holster has an open bottom so that the muzzle is not covered but I don't think your can would fit through it.

What kind of barrel is that and where did you get it?

It looks cool and all. And I'm sure it's fun to shoot. Why would you even want a holster for this set up?

it would seem to fit nicely diagonally across your chest in a chest holster.

I doubt seriously you will find a holster for a supressed weapon. You may find someone that will make one for you, but it won't be cheap. And why in the world would you want to carry a weapon like this in a holster anyway?

I'm also looking for something to do this with for 3 gunning. It would be for the fun of it. So far the only thing that I found that would work is a soft sided holster. But the down fall is that with the suppressor on it is hard to draw because of the extra length. A drop style holster would put the suppressor to low to be able to kneel and a cross draw is not allowed.

ETA: About the only thing that I can think of that would work would be a type like the open guys use with a U shape holder on the bottom instead of the post the barrel slips onto.

What about a thigh rig with the bottom of the holster cut out so the supressor can stick through? as long as the muzzle stays above the deck when you're kneeling it should be GTG.

I've got the same suppressor. :p Gem Tec tax promotion.

I did some quick measuring before and the holster could only come down about 3 inches from my belt and not hit kneeling when holstered. Suppressor is about 7" long. With the suppressor on its still a LONG draw and you would need to make sure you didn't kneel in sand. Starting to really lean for a open race gun rig. But damn they cost a lot.

Maybe get with the guys at Raven Concealment and see what they have to say? They can do custom holsters, and may have already done one like this for another customer...worth a try, and if you have an idea as to how it would be designed send it their way, maybe they can make it. All kydex holsters, BTW.

Seems to me that carrying a suppressed weapon (unless you're special forces) is useless. You increase the profile of the gun significantly and probably open yourself to some additional civil (legal) scrutiny if you ever had to use your weapon in self-defense. No doubt, you'd be portrayed as some kind of stalker, just itching to shoot someone and leave the scene of the crime. Even if it's not true, sadly, perception is reality in much of the world.
