Help! Field strip a S&W 4043

    Just bought a used S&W 4043 in excellent condition. But need info on field stripping this model. All info would be appreciated.

    Good choice. I use a 4053 as my CCW. Gotta be almost the same thing. Barrel length might be the only difference.

    Unload it and remove the magazine. Pull back the slide partways to where the slide stop lines up with the groove cut into the slide. While holding it there, push the slide stop out from the other side with a pen or whatever is handy. The slide will then come off and you can remove the barrel and recoil spring, etc.

    Putting it back to together is the same in reverse. If you have any questions or something doesn't put back together right, feel free to IM me and we can figure it out.

    Thanks omegapd! Worked like a charm. The gun looks fine on the inside also. Just needs a little cleaning. Thanks again for your help.
