Just for the record, the thread title is a bit of hyperbole. I don't think it's that big of a deal. In my setup I would only have the one mag for the gun anyways.
If you see emergency reloads with a G43 in your future, you may want to take measures.
Occasionally the G43 mags would slightly bind during insertion. I removed the mag release and rounded the lower edge with sandpaper. It took about two minutes and the problem has gone away.
Maybe Glock needs to buy some sandpaper and use it before boxing them up. Like I said earlier, Glock screwed the pooch by waiting this long to jump into this market. Besides, it was the Glock faithful who wanted this gun all along. But due to Glock dragging their feet, other companies jumped in to answer the plea for a single stack compact 9mm. By Glock waiting several years after the fact, then they really need to hit it out of the park on this one. One hiccup/flaw, just one, is going to lose even more of their loyal fans. I'm a HUGE Glock fan, but will seriously shitcan any thought whatsoever of even thinking of owning one of those, if it's got a hint of issues.
I gotta agree with a couple points here. If all it takes is a couple minutes with sandpaper it isn't enough of a problem to get your panties in a bunch. And if you're concerned about reloading you should buy bigger panties and carry a 26 or 19.
Skip the panties and just free-ball it with a 26 in your pants, uber comfy.
Actually I've been carrying my 26 IWB with a Raven Vanguard 2 and I like it. I'd bet by time you put a 43 in a holster IWB its pretty close to a 26 width without a holster.
I agree it's no big deal, if I had a 43 and it had that problem I'd sand it and not worry about it.
But it is a mark against Glock, just like the XDs recall was a mark against SA (I had one and went through the recall). Ultimately I agree with Joe's earlier comment, Glock had plenty of time to get their single stack 9 out and work out the bugs, if they didn't then that's on them.
And I haven't seen any birthing issues with the VP9. Just sayin....
If I insert the mag at an angle so that the right side of the mag drags going in, it catches. If I insert the mag perfectly parallel with the grip, no problems.

Now I've only used mine once at the range, lots of dry fire, mag changes, never an issue with mine. Hopefully not a large scale issue, first I've read of it. An issue for one a statistic doesn't make.
This is true they did. But they got it fixed. Plus mine never had an issue. I sent it in on the safe side. I rarely have a problem with mine, and when I do its the ammo or my grip. The gun has been perfect.
So by this logic, the gun was flawed (when they came out), fixed and now it functions until you make it not function....then should not the G43 be given the same pass? Now I'm not saying you should like the G43, to each their own but for one, a single complaint on the net means nothing except for that one user. I too have an XDs (4.0 45 ACP) and it works like a charm, love that thing but the G43 gets the carry duty when I return. In the scheme of things, who cares, right?
I'm just saying it their is an issue with the mag catch not allowing the magazine to be fully inserted they should admit that. If they admit the problem and fix it then they are good to go. If they say they don't have a problem but everyone says they do, something isn't right.
I know glock is a great firearm, not my top pick but I know they are good.
I just want any company to admit a problem if they have one and make it right that's all.
I wouldn't own a gun for self defense that had any problems. But hey , this is a new model. Im thinking this works out. As far as sales go Glock will most likely sell one of these to all the Glock faithful. They LOVE their Glocks!
Damn...I have one of these on a Blue Label waiting list.......not a must have for me as I have a few that fits that size.......Shield, K9, CW9.....maybe I'll wait
Just got a G43 today, with a test fire of 5/7/2015. The magazines still hang up if inserting at a certain angle. Rumor was that Glock quietly was addressing this with new magazine releases. But my unit, with a test fire of just a couple of weeks ago was still not perfection. The fix is easy, and now it works flawless 100%. And it's significantly lighter than the XDs. I'm torn. Don't get me wrong, the XDs is a great, albeit heavy gun.
