How do you like the porting?

Is the gun that much easier to control?

Have you shot the gun in low light or complete darkness?

I've been drooling over these Gemini custom SP's for a while.

I can't decide if I would do the porting or not.

FIRSTLY, SWEEEEET IRON. That thing looks amazing.
My .357mag taurus is ported ("V-6") and it is pretty dang easy to control for being such a small bbl. I've shot it in low light and surprisingly it's not a foot long fireball out the end or top of the ports, it's just kinda like a mini-basketball sized orb that surrounds the muzzle of the gun. Brighter than regular, but not as bad as one might imagine. I hope to get a pic of it sometime this summer once I get back to the states. Is the porting worth it? I dunno, I've never shot the same revolver non'ported so I can't compare, however, shooting it isn't too tough.

And also, did you have it all done at once, or a piece at a time? How long did it take?

Outstanding work my Marc. He did some work on my 1911 before. If I ever get a Ruger, it's going his way. Thanks for sharing. 8)

    How much you got....?

Here's the site. Looks like they're in your solar system.

    http://www.geminicustoms.com/RugerSP101prices.htm

Actually the prices aren't that bad for what you get.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a 3" SP101, dang it.

I have a 2 incher, reckon they could put the barrell stretcher on it?

That is probably the nicest SP101 I've ever seen. Their prices seem to be downright affordable. Dont forget to add $120 to the price of the custom work for round trip shipping.

    hey fellas,

i paid for this back in march so I honestly forget. I have the receipt somewhere. It was a little more expensive, since I had some extra work done to it, the Del Fatti leather, moon clips, moon clip tools, etc...

Anything worth owning will NOT be cheap though

When it comes to control, the porting does help. It is a small gun, small handle, it almost crosses that line of passing as a BUG but it is small enough to do so if necessary. With magnum loads, there is a reason they call it the 'red dragon' You do notice a difference though, you feel the percussion, but the muzzle stays down.

With 38spcl and 38+p, its a cake walk.

Shipping is included with Gemini Customs, and if you are lucky, he already has SP101s in stock, so you do not have to ship a gun to him :)

Normally I don't think much of people doing all sorts of cutting and stuff to their guns, but that's just gorgeous. It retains a high level of class that I (personally) tend to find missing in a lot of the work I see.

    Just beautiful.
