So I'm sure a lot of you already read my thread titled "Glock perfection, does it really exist?"

I really want one, I have an XDm and an M&P by the way, I'm an equal opportunity collector! At any rate, I shot the Gen 3 22 and LOVED it. Due to panic buying, I haven't been able to find one anywhere, any generation.

I found a Gen 4 online for $539 including shipping. Would you jump on this or just wait? I've seen some used on armslist but they were only slightly less then new, around $475. Is the 4 that much different? Obviously the texture on the grip and the backstraps. The new spring in the Gen 4 helps a little bit more too right?

Need some advice please. I'm guessing with the FFL transfer total would be $570 or so.

It is an ok deal but I prefer the gen 3 myself. The texture on the Gen 4 grip turned me off a bit. I am not really sure if there is a big difference in the springs. Anyone else want to chime in on that?

I traded my Gen 3 G22 for the Gen 4 G22. I have found the Gen 4 grip to have a lot more bite, I like it a lot better. No need for any grip tape or anything. Also the new recoil spring handles the .40 better IMO. Sounds like a good price too. Some people do prefer the Gen 3 over the Gen 4, I've heard that alot. I like both. I don't think you can go wrong with a Gen 4 Glock 22. Its a solid gun.

Yeah I figure its not the best deal, but the times we're in now, when are they going to go back down to 479-499?

I did notice that when I was shooting the Gen 3 40, it was a little jumpy in my hand. I think maybe the more aggressive grip might be beneficial. Will be a range and HD gun so not worried about the grip rubbing me on the side.

I never caught the .40 bug so I am not sure maybe the grip will help. 9mm and 45acp for me ;)

Can't see how adding a Gen 4 Glock 22 to your collection would be a bad thing. Worst case scenario you sell it and get a good price for it.

That's what I'm thinking too. I have a 3.8 compact XDm in 40 and shoot that not too bad. I'm thinking the full size is even better even if its not a Springfield.

I just don't want to get hosed on the price. I THINK it seems ok, but just not positive. That's why Im asking here. I've sen others online but you add the shipping and its more then the $539 I found it for which includes shipping.

That's a decent deal. Some would consider that a real good deal seeing how most places are taking advantage of all the panic buyers.
I think you will like the G22. I have XD, M&P, FNS and Glock. The Glock fits the worst in my hands but I am more accurate with it than any of my others. Therefore it is the one I carry most.

I paid just under 600 for my gen 4 26.
The gen 4 is what actually finally made me cave and get a glock, didn't like the other gens for the same reasons why they came out with the gen 4.
also, yes, the full size xdm .40 is nice and fun to shoot never tried the C, or SC versions, so i cant say if they feel different (from personal experience)

Buy the Glock, install a Fulcrum trigger group in it and move on. You won't regret the acquisition.

I concur, although the $11 ghost 3.5lb trigger was enough for me.

Is that an easy task to complete? If being used for a HD gun is that reduced trigger pull ok? I know for the range it would be awesome.

Yes; a sign it's bloody obvious you should buy it!;)

$539 is a very good price for a Gen4. The cheapest I have ever seen them is $529, which a buddy of mine paid at a show a week before the current insanity began...now, the same vendor is selling them for $569, and can't keep 'em in stock.

Bear in mind a Gen4 comes with three 15rd magazines (depending on your state, of course)...and those 15rd magazines seem to be made out of platinum (at least, judging from the price), lately...if you can even find them.
