Received the following in an email from a friend who is USMC, Ret.:
its sad that it takes an instance like this to make someone see clearly.
i just hope more can see how this could happen to them and see a gun as a protective tool and not an evil weapon of destruction
I am only glad that the man with his weapon was there. More people need to see that we don't carry to hurt anyone but to keep from being a soft target. I'm sorry she went through this but also glad she lived to be able to see her mistake..
wow.... that is a good story.... i dont know why people have the misconception that guns or people w/guns are bad... yes there are a select few who misuse them, but for the most part thank God, the man was there!
I am sad and glad at the same time, when I hear of this type of event being needed to wake someone up, and very thankful that no one was hurt.
Thanks for the post, jmichna
People think guns are bad because 99% of the content in the media about guns is about crime, not responsible gun owners protecting themselves, their families, and others.
It's an issue of ignorance, not stupidity (well, some are stupid, most just don't know any better). A lot are also naive to think they are perfectly safe every moment of every day and naive to think there aren't people out there who are more than willing to harm you.
I doubt the authenticity of this little letter. It sounds too... contrived.
This was in the weekly newsletter from the USCCA.
I came across it also at the Keep & Bear Arms website where it appeared as a Letter to the Editor.
True or not. Lets spread it like wildfire. Isnt that what the media does when the table is turned?
