hey guys my interest is going toward an eaa...
1911 grip, all metal, looks decent...
now any one got experience with it? it looks good but how does it shoot? and for about 400 its sounds like a good deal...
here is what I see... i am currently looking for a 1911 grip (best group with it) pistol for carry therefore it will not be a traditional full size 1911 waaaaaay to heavy and big... so.... maybe a eaa...

here are the current firearm i own currently as far as handguns

    STI Spartan .45
    Sig p229 9mm
    Ruger Sp 101 .357
    Ruger MK III .22lr
    Ruger Charger .22lr
    Berretta PX4 9mm
    Smith And Wesson PPK .380
    Walther PP .32ACP
    + or - 1 lol

    Thanks guys

I have 2 full size Witnesses, and a few 1911 full size. For me the grip angle seems to be quite different. The 1911's point naturally for me, but the Witnesses point low. The Witness does feel very good in my hand, and is quite accurate. Reliability, is also very good. I have a 10mm, and a 38 super. When I got mine the 9mm used a smaller frame, but I think they are all the same size now.

Have never handled a Witness compact however. If you have handled one, and it feels good to you, I would say buy it.

    ooo, back in stock.

    quiet you!

I'm gonna try to pick up a P6 in a few weeks off a friend.

the Witness will probably be next...or a couple CZ-82's

I briefly owned two EAA witness compact's in 10mm with the wonder finish. They were quite frankly the biggest pile of sh*t I have ever owned. I've seen a Davis .380 that was more reliable than those pieces of garbage. I wrote a thread on here awhile ago about it. Frankly, it was a jamm-o-matic and I never once was able to fire off a whole mag w/out any problems.
If you are going to buy an EAA witness, order it through Davidson's. That way you can exchange it for another one if you have a problem with it, and then when you receive your second one and become so fed up with it, you can return it and go buy a gun that works, like a Glock or XD.

I will admit, I did own an EAA Witness Elite Match in 9mm and they are the best kept secret. That was one excellent shooting pistol. Bottomline, if you buy an EAA, stick with the Elite Match grade. You'll save yourself from a lot of headaches.

Never owned a compact, but I've owned a fullsize Witness-P in 9mm and a steel fullsize 10mm (currently own a 10mm Elite Match).

They're great pistols for the money. The triggers in the standard models can be a bit rough, but it's nothing a few hundred rounds won't smooth out.

Own a full size Witness Steel Wonder finish in .45 ACP for 10+ years. No problems at all. It is old school: steel frame and steel slide. It makes for a heavy gun to carry, but very accurate and pleasant to shoot. I have never shot, or even handled, a compact Witness. I would go with the fullsize in .45ACP. You can then get the conversion kits to .40S&W, .38 Super, 9mm, 10mm, and .22lr. You CANNOT do that with the 9mm - they are on a smaller frame. Call EAA with questions. Look up eaacorp.com or call the contact number: 321-639-4842 The new full size witnesses(remember mine is old) come with the picatinny rail cut into the frame. Check on holster availability before ordering the gun (I still have problems finding a holster for my SA 1911 with rail).

If you want a 1911 grip, get a 1911. Otherwise get a Browning Hi Power or a CZ-75
