I know i'm showing my ignorance here, but what exactly is the difference between 45 acp and 45 gap? Is it different loads or what? While buying ammo at wal mart today, i saw lots of 45 auto, would that work in any 45? Or does it have to be acp or gap? Someone please help me be less stupider, lol.

Gap is shorter so no, they wouldn't work in each other.

45 acp is .45 cal american colt pistol

    GAP is glock auto pistol.

its case is different they are not interchangeable.

Any gun that takes .45 acp should take darn near any brand any configuration of 45acp.

The gap was no good anyways, it is a dead/dieing caliber.

The .45 GAP stands for Glock Automatic Pistol, and was designed originally by glock to be a smaller, more compact version of the .45 ACP. That was so they could make a smaller double stack .45 pistol. .45 ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol, designed way back at the turn of the century. The .45 ACP is MUCH more common, and it holds just a bit more powder. The .45 GAP and .45 ACP won't interchange.

    .45 auto = .45 ACP

Do not use .45 GAP, .45 Colt or any other .45 whatever that isn't "auto" or "ACP" in a gun chambered for .45 ACP.

Only use GAP in a pistol chambered for GAP.

yep anything at wall mart marked .45 ACP is fine.

You can find .45acp anywhere that sells anything gun related. Pretty much .22 lr, .223, .308, 30-06, 9mm your gonna find everywhere.

You will have no problem finding it, and anything that says .45 ACP is what your gun gobbles up.

well maybe not some + loads virtually all will be fine.

This thread really really scares me for some reason I just quite can't put my finger on.
