Got my AG 3.0 for the mod2 40cal sc today and well lets just say it is not a concealed weapon on me. I am 5ft 5inches tall 150lbs and that stupid holster wraps 1/4 around my body almost. The gun sticks out like a sore thumb no matter what shirt, pants, belt and it is all tight to my body. So all of you who think that 1/4 of inch dont matter matter i think it might when you dont have love handles or fat anywhere. Highly dissappointed. Most likely getting rid of mod 2 and getting away from springfield completely
I have love handles and my alien gear doesn't do it for me with the Mod 2, or many of my single stacks, if what I need is absolute complete concealment. It's alright, but I've had to look at methods other than IWB. I just started trying the SmartCarry, and it's very comfy and in the right pants my Mod 2 disappears. In jeans, I have to stick to my single stack Kahrs. At least AG has a return policy if you don't love it. So send it in, get your money back, and attempt some other holster styles before leaving the Springfield family completely. Best of luck!
Thanks for your comment, i should not have made the general love handle statement. I took the advise of 2 ppl n ordered an appendix holster that can aslo be used for on the back. 65.00 is cheaper than buying a new gun.
Save your money and buy an appendix holster that's meant to be carried only in the appendix position. This is coming from someone who exclusively carried appendix. I'm slender build and can conceal a g19 with ease. There's a lot of people out there labeling straight drop holsters as appendix holsters. An appendix holster needs to have a grip tuck feature with tucks the grip into the body (ex: shaggy holster, jm custom kydex). Those are made for appendix carry. You're going to have the same issue of the butt of the gun sticking out unless you get a true appendix holster.
I wasn't upset by the comment. Just contributing to the discussion relevant to body type. Best of luck with your newest holster! What type did you get, out of curiosity?
You're in luck nt4, I say you get rid of that Mod.2...it's no good...sell it to me. I'll give you a "fair" price for it...then you can pick up the Taurus Curve that EMorris suggested....yea, that works for me.
Try a single clip holster instead of the crossbreed / AG type. They don't work for me either. But i can corneal a Glock 21 with the right tshirt but usually and xds or xdm.
I am 6'1" 160 lbs. I conceal an XDsc OWB with a Detriot Holsters Metro or an XDs in a Stealth Gear Onyx, both at about 3-3:30. I had the same issue with the Alien Gear holster. I switched to the Stealth Gear and it solved my concealment problem. The issue with the Alien Gear for me was the size of the shell.
Glad you're going to look at other holster options, OP. As mentioned here, not every holster works for everyone with every different gun.
Sometimes, depending on dress, I can carry the XDMc / S&W M&P 9c, iwb at about 3:30 - 4:00 with no problems...... other times, even the single-stack Kahr CW40 doesn't want to cooperate and it stands out like a sore thumb.
Look around, the Mod2 isn't THAT big of a gun and with the flush-mount mag, you should be able to find something that works for you. Good luck!!
Really, I am about the same weight as you and I tried most sub-compacts like the G26. Even it was more than what I could comfortably conceal for 14 hours a day. Now you know why guns like the LC9S, G43, XDS, and others are the hottest selling gun today. I don't even own a subcompact double stack like a G26 anymore. I own service sized guns like the G19, Mod.2 service, CZ P-Series, and others but when it's time to conceal for long periods it has to be single stack for me. Even the slightest print is a big no-no for me at times.
N82, which has only a single loop, has worked well for my Mod 2. I also like carrying it OWB in a Kydex style with a flannel or other type of loose fitting untucked shirt or jacket, depending on the weather, as the cover garment. I have many holsters for other pistols over the years that I have tried and discarded or given away because they just did not work for my body type. Once you find the right holster I think you will be happy with the Mod 2.
Granted I carry a g17 w/x300U in a persec spear every day all day.
But a persec spear without a light would work great for you for a mod 2 or for a smith and wesson shield. Consider that, also note the belt matters as much if not more than the holster. Services
Agreed..everyone is different with body sizes..what works for one..wont for another. Iam not large by any means and don't like owb holsters. I think they print to much. Although Iam trying to ccw a 4" service model..big. But if I ever had to use it I would rather have the confidence with the pistol and know Iam going to be able to hit what Io need to with it..the smaller the pistol..the harder its gonna be. For me that is..
Its not about the holster..its about the weapon. And then find a system that works for you and your dress and season. Multiple holsters are just gonna happen..luckily I found a system that I like and works for me without a big investment. Although many say its not the best..blah blah..it works and with a little knowledge and training..it works well for me.
Good luck and I hope you find something suitable for yourself.
This holster tucks the rear end of the gun into your stomach and also rotates the gun in towards your hip (brings the magwell in right to the body) in my experience the custom holsters are worth it for appendix carry. I purchased another "appendix" holster before this and it looked like I had a brick in my pants.

My concern with most of the holsters discussed before titanicthunder's post is the lack of a barrier between the body and the weapon's slide. It's largely a comfort thing, but also protects from the rear sight digging into you in a fall. What's the make and model of that holster, titanicthunder?
I'm on the smaller side about 5'11" and 165 pounds, but I carry slightly behind my hip (about right behind my wallet) and I can conceal my XD or a full-size 1911.
So you're blaming the gun you bought, and the company on your misfortunes of trying to conceal it? Did I miss a memo somewhere that Springfield stated that the Mod 2 is the most concealable gun ever? Its not Springfields fault that you are 5'5" 150lbs. Not trying to be a dick but you are going about it the wrong way. Don't blame the gun that YOU picked, for YOU not being able to conceal it. Moral of the story, should have bought a smaller gun.
As to the holster problem : There is a good reason why most all of us have a drawer/box chuck full of different holsters.
"I know you've been sworn in Sir, I've read your complaint..."
I say: open carry !
