im not a huge fan of the stock sight so im looking at upgrading. any suggestions? Thanks
I emailed Springfield about swapping sites on my xdm40 4.5 for the adjustable sites on the new 5.25 line of guns. After 3 weeks they replied that they currently will not be able to swap like I wanted. They said maybe in the future but no plans currently.
I am looking to change sites also but wanted to let you know don't ask Springfield for the swap like I did. After the long 3 week wait for a response I was quite disappointed.
About two years ago I had the Springfield Armory Custom Shop install a Bomar styled rear sight, milled into the rear of the slide (exactly like they do the 5.25) and a front Dawson fiber sight. It is a pleasure to shoot, but I find myself shooting my 5.25 more.
Dawson Precision makes replacement sights for the 4.5 XDm. I have adjustables on the rear (you can get black, fiber optic, or tritium) and .100" wide fiber optic on the front. Outstanding sights.
Now with the Dawson or Springfield adjustable sights will they be able to adjust to POA and what size front sight is needed. Sorry didn't mean to thread jack
There is a lot of adjustment to the Dawson sights so you should be able to adjust to get the impact point exactly where you want it. As far as the height of the front sight; depends on which gun you are talking about I think. Best bet is to call Dawson Precision (or email) and they will steer you in the right direction. Great CS and more than willing to help.
Thanks it would be done to my xdm9 4.5 there is a guy in another forum I'm on selling a set of dawsons adj. On same gun I might jump on them.
I love the stock adjustable sights on my XDm 5.25. Now I want them on every handgun. Any idea if the Dawson adjustable sights will fit an XDm compact 3.8? Ease of installation?
