The G19 is about as perfect as you can get for a 9mm

    If gen 4, definitely.

I'd go after a used one instead though.

    S&W Model 10 .38 Special Revolver with Rubber Grips - Trade-in

A buddy just got one, it was a 10-8 (prelock, firing pin on hammer).

    Just sayin'.

I've seen these as low as $279 at various vendors, but $299 is still a fair price...I have several stashed throughout my abode.

If you're still interested in "cheap", @Nacho Man, check out the Sarsilmaz line. The B6 is the most common 9, the K2 is their big double stack. 45 (below 300 and 400 dollars respectively). The B6 is polymer framed but the SAR K2 45 is an all steel, all forged piece of bitchin'. They also make a K2P(olymer) in 9 and 45...all based on the CZ platform.

When I got interested in the K2 45 I started researching the company and was pretty impressed w their manufacturing process...they're kind of the European Smith&Wesson or Colt.

Of the "coming-on" Turkish manufacturers Sarsilmaz is at the top (by a LOT), I'd put Canik somewhere in the middle and throw Tisas into the gutter. I'd buy another SAR ARMS piece in a heartbeat.

I got a brand new M&P Shield 9mm for free with the purchase of a new AR-15 from Palmetto State Armory, here in SC. They are running this combo deal at all of their locations as a February special. The AR is built by them at their factory in Irmo, SC and uses a DPMS upper and lower assembly but is stamped with the PSA brand name. The AR sells for $699.99 plus tax, and with each one sold the M&P Shield 9mm is included.

Anybody try the Sig 320, specifically the compact and sub. Seems like a nice modular design. I like the fact that one can buy the compact, order a sub frame and have both for $40, probably need a different mag though. Pretty cool how you can just pull the takedown lever and the chassis comes right out.

I had one (.45). I liked it, but at the end of the day, I didn't love it.

I still think the 320 has the best trigger in any striker-fired plastic pistol out there, though.

On a side note that guy counter offered at $900 for the Colt. In addition theres a lightly used Trp no rail for $1000 available. Hmm hard to decide, go big or pass on em'
One thing though is both have ambi safety which I don't like. It's makes it a pia to dissemble the pistol
