ok...so here's the deal, our cat loves to play in the bathtub faucet. From the day we left it on a bit by accident, she plays in it drinks out of it etc.

Now this is our fault. We got into this habit of leaving it on for her just a hair. Problem is now she won't drink water out of her bowl. She's got two full bowls of water, but will sit in front of the bathroom door and yowl.

any way to break her of this habit? or just make her tough it out?

Leave the water off, your cat will get thirsty enough and go back to it bowl.

Let the cat drink out of the toilet. You might need to flush twice every once in a while to ensure fresh drinking water -- but you sound like a decent person who would do that with or without a cat.

    +1 on the fountain.
I don't really care for cats but I have an EXGF that had three cats.
The cats like the flowing water.
But if it gets thirsty enough it should drink whatever is available.

+1 on the fountain as well...

I don't know if cats have problems seeing the top of still water or not, but our cat used to always stick his foot in the bowl before drinking. Took a while to figure out, but I think he was breaking the surface tension and causing ripples so that he could see where the level was.

Dogs will never be as picky as cats... trade it in. ;)

I second all of these!!! Also, I can't say enough good things about that Drinkwell fountain!! My cat LOVES it. Greatest invention for cats ever devised.

Anyone who owns cats should do WHATEVER THEY CAN TO ENCOURAGE THEIR CATS TO DRINK WATER!!!

I bolded all that because I think this is so important. My cat has kidney disease, which is thought to be caused by not getting enough water over a period of years. Cats generally don't drink enough water. And dry cat food exacerbates the problem. The idea that dry food is good for their teeth is a myth. Cats should eat mainly wet food.

fountains are a joy for my cat, but he just loves moving water, he drinks the sink he can turn it on himself, he drinks out of the toilet, he drinks the water from the de humidifier when it drains into the wash tub in basement, he can hear a click or some noise i cant, cause he runs down there to watch it empty. The fountain will make him happy. He will of course show up at water bowl or the turlet in day or two of no fancy boy faucet water. My cat digs ice cubs in his water also. If you leave a tall drink glass half full with ice cubes he will jam his fat face intot he tall glass, and if you put ice cubes in his bowl he loves it.
