Who do you suggest for 20 round magazines for the M1A. A buddy of mine has had a Socom for a few years, but only the mags that came with it.

Are Springfield mags the best - they are very expensive.

What do you think of Checkmate International Magazines?

I remember seeing something somewhere about Korean M1A mags, but I don't recall where.

    Any help is appreciated.

I just stick with Springfield, magazines are not the place to go cheap on.

CMI at 44mag, doesn't get much better than that.

They are very dependable, well constructed and about half the cost of SA mags. Pick up a couple 25 rounders while your at it, I've not had any issues with either.

As for the Korean mags, I tried to ask the same question but everyone said "buy CMI" and I'm glad I listened. I remember a few guys were planning to buy over at Arfcom and give reviews but I haven't checked in lately for updates.

CMIs work great and are half the price of the Springfields. CMI makes the mags for SA they just don't stamp the CMI logo on the SA runs. CMI also is making the M1 mags for the military right now.

I was hooked up from the forum here when CMI was having a sale on the mags. I bought 3 for about 20 bucks each and they work great! I made the mistake of buying some from a gun show and I was able to see the differences between the crappy ones and the CMI mags.

For those in Arizona, Dillon carries the CMI mags as well. I bought a 25 round mag but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

The only mags I've used are from Springield. Haven't had a problem with one yet.

Like most of the people on here I use Checkmate Industries magazines. They are extremely reliable and reasonably priced.

Those who are sticking with Springfield Armory magazines should note that Checkmate Industries actually make those and Springfield simply slaps their stamp on them. If you go with the ones stamped at Checkmate you'll get the same thing for half the cost.

^ Yep, save over half if you don't by the SA stamp.

I actually own both but continue to buy CMI because I can't tell a difference between the two.
